Hinge test

Screen hinges are a potential weak spot on any notebook, so ASUS tests its designs by opening and closing its notebook lids at least 20,000 times to ensure their

robustness.

Shock test

Notebooks are likely to experience shocks during shipping and day-to-day use. So ASUS performs a variety of shock tests to ensure that each model can handle the rough and tumble of everyday life.

Pressure test

Notebook LCD screens are fragile and need to be protected by a sturdy lid. ASUS ensures that each display is well protected by subjecting its designs to high pressure tests.

Drop test

A dropped notebook shouldn’t mean a broken notebook and ASUS puts its models through a series of drop tests that measure how well they cope with life’s little accidents.

Vibration test

Shock is one common laptop stress—vibration is another. Vibration testing subjects notebooks to a range of vibration frequencies to ensure that both the outer construction and internal components are able to cope.

Twist test

Notebook lids opened with one hand can cause screens to flex. The twist test assesses how well notebooks cope with this type of handling by twisting the entire chassis to extreme degrees.
