What’s extraordinary about being “Number One in Student Satisfaction” for six straight

years is that every year Niagara College (NC)

welcomes new students, and every year a new

student body puts Niagara at the top. The

College has its own theory about this record –

it’s simple: NC is committed to our students’

success and it’s in all the words we use.

When you’re considering what College to attend, consider this: Out of the 24 Colleges in Ontario, Niagara College Canada (NC) has been voted

And, with an outstanding array of relevant, in-demand

programs offering diplomas, degrees, apprenticeships, and

graduate certificates, NC is committed to bringing your

dreams to life.

In your time at NC, you’ll get to know your professors on

a first-name basis, in part because the classroom sizes are

small, but also because the College is committed to hands-on

instruction. You’ll work in unique learning enterprises and in-

dustry leading co-op programs that have transformed the way

NC students learn.

How many times have you heard friends or relatives say

of their post secondary education, “I’ve got a degree, but it

didn’t really prepare me for a career.” At NC, you’ll be working

toward your career from the moment you arrive. And before

you leave the College, you’ll likely already have experience in

your chosen field. It doesn’t get any better than that!

We’re proud of our “small-town” atmosphere and friendliness,

nestled among the region’s historic towns and hamlets. And,

we’re equally proud of being at the centre of one of the most

populated areas of North America — where ten million people

live within a two-hour drive of Niagara College.

We can also celebrate having many state-of-the-art

facilities, including labs for Laser Technology, Virtual

Reality, Welding, and Broadcasting, as well as the renowned

Culinary Institute and Canada’s only commercial Teaching

Winery whose vintage awards for excellence rival some of

the finest in the world.

Number One for Six Years! Remember, it’s all about

Student Success — your success. So, whether you’re begin-

ning the journey, taking a fork in the road toward your goal, or

building on the credentials you already have, Niagara College

Canada is the perfect place to apply your dreams.

What does number one in student satisfaction mean? It means that every member of the NC team is deeply committed to the success of every member of the student body — every student’s success, includ-ing yours. This passion for student success can be summed up by the two words: Applied Dreams.

#1 in Student Satisfactionfor the Sixth Straight Year!

Niagara College also has three major learning enterprises in the culinary and wine fields with the culinary institute restaurant, Canada’s only commercial teaching winery and only teaching brewery. This is all nestled on a 114-acre campus that is home to almost 40 acres of vineyards, the greenhouse and Chef’s gardens, horticultural features across campus and the ecological initiatives along our Wetland Ridge Trail (which joins the Bruce Trail of the adjacent UN designated world biosphere reserve of the Niagara Escarpment).

Learning at the CFWI is more than taking standard lectures and labs. Every day you are immersed in the process of food, wine and beer making, experiencing what the industry has to offer and becoming passionate about the entire food and beverage industry.

What sets us apart is the CFWI offerings, not easily attained anywhere else. These offerings will be supported by the highly-skilled professional faculty and staff, national standards for operations and delivery, state-of-

the-art laboratories, outdoor classrooms and living laboratories, on-campus teaching: winery, restaurant, visitor centre, brewery, gardens, vineyards, orchards, and greenhouses.

At the Canadian Food and Wine Institute, students will be shaped profoundly by their unique experience. The students will gain hands on practice as they launch their studies, building from the roots up. There is a gratification when the students are involved in all aspects in developing a product for the consumer; it’s a greater understanding and appreciation of the process.

They will integrate their program with other CFWI programs by learning food combinations, food/wine pairings and food/beer pairings while producing a first-rate product. This option of cross studying offers complete engagement. Where else can you plant your seeds, pick your product, prepare and create all at your doorstep…it’s an excellent benefit!

At the Canadian food and Wine Institute, students will be shaped profoundly by their unique experience.

The Canadian Food and Wine institute (CfWI) will provide food and wine education and training for students, employers and consumers. The Institute will specialize in Canadian regional cuisine with a focus on culinary arts and science, wine and beer sciences food technology and research.

For students, employers and Communities

The Master Plan is enhancing the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus and transforming the Welland campus by replacing and expanding aging buildings with improved facilities and new technology to create more than 2,000 new spaces in programs, where labour is in high demand in Niagara: skilled trades and technology, health, community services, hospitality, culinary and tourism. This project will significantly impact economic development in the Niagara Region.

Included in the Master Plan is a strategy for the sustainability

and naturalization of the Welland Campus. By utilizing new building technologies and executing a comprehensive landscape plan the Welland campus will become a vibrant urban recreational park enjoyed by the entire community. It will also serve as a “living lab” for students to learn about innovative horticulture and environmental technologies.

Niagara College’s plan is also investing in human capital through scholarships and bursaries, applied research projects, equipment and learning resources.

New applied health institute will add classrooms, labs and a 350-seat auditorium. The institute will create 1,000 new spaces in high demand health programs.

New athletic Centre with double gymnasium, 1,000 seats, fitness centre and other amenities to enhance the student experience.

New academic Wing features two 140-seat and three 70-seat lecture theatres as well as labs and classrooms.

Welland Campus TransformationThe Welland Campus is undergoing the most dramatic changes made since it opened in 1967. This project will significantly improve the institutional infrastructure in Welland, a provincially designated Economic Improvement Zone.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus EnhancementThe Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus, one of the most beautiful in Canada, is nestled below the Niagara Escarpment, a United Nations World Biosphere Reserve. The campus will be further enhanced by the new Wine Visitor + Education Centre and expansion to the Culinary Skills training area.

Wine visitor + education Centre promotes the Ontario Wine industry, growers and culinary traditions, and tourism by providing education, training and experiential opportunities for students, industry, the community and visitors.

Culinary skills expansion to create more capacity for apprentice and short-term culinary training, a critical skill for the Niagara economy.

When you’re considering what College to attend, consider this:Out of the 24 Colleges in Ontario, Niagara College Canada (NC) has been voted “Number One in Student Satisfaction for the Sixth Straight Year.” What does that mean? It means that every member of the NC team is deeply committed to the success of every student.

This passion for student success can be summed up by the two words: Applied Dreams.

And, with an outstanding array of relevant, in-demand programs offering diplomas, degrees, apprenticeships, and graduate certificates, NC is committed to bringing your dreams to life.

At NC, you’ll get to know your professors on a first-name basis, in part because the classroom sizes are small, but also because the College is committed to hands-on instruction. You’ll work in unique learning enterprises and industry leading co-op programs that have transformed the way NC students learn.

How many times have you heard friends or relatives say of their post secondary education, “I’ve got a degree, but it didn’t really prepare me for a career.” At NC, you’ll be working toward your career from the moment you arrive. And before you leave the College, you’ll likely already have experience in your chosen field. It doesn’t get any better than that.

We’re proud of our “small-town” atmosphere and friendliness, nestled among the region’s historic towns and hamlets. And, we’re equally proud of being at the centre of one of the most populated areas of North America – where ten million people live within a two-hour drive of Niagara College.

We can also celebrate having state-of-the-art facilitiesand our unique learning enterprises – on-campus businesses where students gain real-world experience.
