PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Dear Parents and Friends, Welcome to another week of news from Heathcote PS!
In the last few weeks of Term 3 and at the end of Term 4, we will be conducting our 2015 Transition Program, which will include our the first transition session for the preschool children as well as an information session for parents of preschool children on Monday 8th Sept from 2.00pm - 3.00pm. There will also be another four transition sessions before the end of the year. Our current Grade 2 students will take part in their own Transition Sessions as they will be joining the Senior Unit when the Preschool students are at school, so that they can get to know the teachers and also develop an understanding of the type of work they will be required to do as Grade 3 students next year.
Kind regards,
Cindi Bruechert
TRANSITION SESSIONS BOOK WEEK ACTIVITIES
Lauren Martin and I would like to thank all the families who were able to complete the survey during or after our Student Learning Interviews. The survey’s provided us with a variety of information about our families and how we may be able to provide more opportunities for whole family learning. There was an overwhelming response around the possibility of the school providing adult education sessions for parents. We now need to take the next step in establishing what type of learning parents may be interested in. We are also after some volunteers to form an ‘Action Group’ consisting of parents, a staff and external partners where appropriate. Please contact Lauren Martin or myself, if you would like to be involved in the Action Group to get these sessions this up and running as soon as possible.
We will be sending home some flyers in the next
week to ask you what type of sessions that you
may be interested in. Please feel free to come in
and discuss any ideas that you may have.
Congratulations to our Civics and Citizenship Award winners from last week:
