At Mt. Horeb, one of our key core values isTruth Is Essential.
In John 14:6, Jesus claimed to be the way,the truth and the life. His bold claim forms the basis for another one of our most important core values:Jesus First, Jesus Always!
Jesus gives this command to His disciples inLuke 24:47-48:
It was also written that this message wouldbe proclaimed in the authority of His name to allthe nations, beginning in Jerusalem:‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’You are witnesses of all these things.
As we reflect back over 2018, this Annual Report celebrates how we at Mt. Horeb are putting Jesusfirst by being His witnesses here in Lexington, the Midlands, South Carolina and to the nations.
Jeff KerseySenior Pastor
At Mt. Horeb UMC we have the mission of making, maturing and mobilizing disciples who magnify Jesus Christ. We are committed to going above and beyond to reach the least and the lost for Jesus Christ.
Our average attendance in weekend worship continues to grow by 6%.

I loved the children. They were so sweet and their hearts for the Lord are amazing. I loved being able to connect with them through worship, games and Bible Stories. It was an amazing experience!

As we look into the future, we are fully committed to fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission by taking His name to Lexington and its surrounding communities.Recent demographic studies show us there are 132,000 unchurched people within a 7-10 mile radius of Mt. Horeb.
FUTUREEXPANSION
We are prayerfully considering a number of strategic means to best reach these people with the message of Jesus in the next 5-10 years:
• Seek to reach 500 adults who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior and are baptized
• Creating dedicated spaces within our existing facilities for worship and chapel services
• Decreasing poverty in Lexington County by 10% in 10 years
• Developing intentional partnerships with other community organizations and churches
• Making an additional $1 million investment to causes helping people outside the walls of our church
• Starting two new churches or campuses within the Midlands
• Launching a training center to equip leaders in all ministry areas to be sent out to use their gifts in other churches and ministry organizations
• Planting two new churches in international communities where Mt. Horeb can also extend its Gospel influence
• Sending more people on short-term mission experiences to support long-term initiatives in other countries
