During your degree you will encounter us through Must in a number of contexts. Nevertheless, it is by working here that you can really get to know us. We put a lot of effort into offering good and attractive Master and Bachelor projects. At Multiconsult we also offer exciting and challenging summer jobs. In 2013, 99 percent of our summer students said that

Our specially developed Must summer programmes are a source of great pride to us. For Anders Gustav Pettersen, the path went via Tanzania. He worked there for a year after starting at Multiconsult in 2007. Today Anders Gustav is the section manager for power stations, working on challenging projects in Norway and overseas. His key tasks include project management, design and preparing bids.

The National Theatre was Heidi Stien’s first job at Multiconsult. High up in a boom lift she inspected the condition of the building’s facades. Heidi works in the environmental and specialist consultancy department in Oslo.

She is helping to develop her own discipline at the company, partly through the competence network for facilities management. She contri-butes to many different projects, and is also in charge of Must.

In Heidi’s experience, employees at Multiconsult are treated as individuals. There are also good opportunities to get a taste of management, even if you don’t have much experience.

THE FUTURE

The industry is in need of good project and engineering managers. At Multiconsult we help to meet this need: if we want to be industry leaders, we also have to take responsibility. Training our own employees is a high priority, and project management and oversight is a recognised career path.

Bergen Light Rail is part of the Bergen programme for transport, urban development and the environment. Multiconsult designed all of the rail infrastructure for the section from Nestun to Rådal. This included all aspects of the project covered by the conceptual planning and zoning plan for the section.

Bergen Light Rail is the biggest transport project that Multiconsult has ever undertaken. Thanks to good oversight and management, as well as a successful design, the project was delivered ahead of schedule and NOK 75 million under budget.

WHERE IT’S HAPPENINGBERGEN LIGHT RAIL

The library aims to be at the forefront of the development of modern public libraries.

The interaction between the client, user groups, architects and engineers was vital to achieving a great concept that meets strict environmental and energy efficiency standards.

BIM was used for inter-disciplinary development, project oversight and to visualise the designs.

The Deichmanske library is just one of Multicon-sult’s many projects in Bjørvika, the new high-rise district that is transforming Oslo’s skyline.

For Statoil, Multiconsult did a concept study for the onshore terminal for the Johan Cast-berg field in the Barents Sea. After the concept phase, Statoil decided to go ahead with the selected concept, which involved a 280 km long pipeline from a floating production unit (FPU) to an onshore terminal at Veidnes near North Cape.

Kværner Engineering was the integrated sub-contractor.Multiconsult has world-leading expertise in Arctic technology, and has played a key role in designing all of the Norwegian onshore oil and gas terminals. Apart from the energy industry, oil and gas is the area where we have the biggest international presence.

THE DEICHMANSKE LIBRARY, OSLO VEIDNES OIL TERMINAL, FINNMARK

Bugoye is a run-of-the-river power station

consisting of an intake canal from the river,

a sedimentation basin, head race, dam,

penstock, power station and tail race.

In an average year it generates 82 GWh of

electricity, increasing Uganda’s electricity

supply by around seven percent.

Multiconsult was involved in the detail design,

site management and supervision, as well as

commissioning and testing the power station.

Bugoye is just one of the very many Norwegian

and international hydropower projects where

Multiconsult has played a key role.

BUGOYE HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION, UGANDA

This will become the world’s most environmentally shopping centre. Fornebu Senter aims

to be classified as “Outstanding” under the BREEAM-NOR certification scheme, and to

achieve an energy efficiency rating of Class A. Multiconsult is playing a key role in designing

and preparing the building to meet the strict environmental requirements that this entails.

Multiconsult is involved in over a third of the registered BREEAM projects in Norway. Our

new offices in Bergen are located in the most environmentally friendly building in that city.

FORNEBU SENTER, OSLO

Multiconsult has been an important partner to Norwegian

industry for more than a century, and we have increased our

focus on the mining, fishing and aquaculture industries.

Multiconsult is an industry leader when it comes to designing

multidisciplinary 3D models that integrate intelligent

information. These models can also be used to manage

human resources, quality and delivery. We call this 4D

modelling for industrial projects. It helps us to devise good

concepts and visualise layouts, as well as ensuring efficient

design, construction, installation and subsequent operation

and maintenance – regardless of the industry.
