Hello and welcome to the virtual tour of the Voyageur Place Residences at the University of Saskatchewan. Voyageur Place is conveniently located just off the bowl, the center of activity of the university. There are four different halls Athabasca, Saskatchewan, QuAppelle and the QuAppelle Addition. If you are a female you will likely live in Athabasca Hall, If you are a male you will live in one of the four. For all you males out there: make sure that you put either QuAppelle or Saskatchewan hall as your hall preference when you apply. Just between you and me, QuAppelle Addition is pretty scary! Lets have a look at what the rooms look like*Here are pictures of Athabasca and Saskatchewan Hall double rooms. There is a quiet hallway in Athabasca called MorgueI would steer clear of it, its creepy! Saskatchewan Hall is traditionally very lively as it is home to many of the Husky's Football players who live in residence. (These are images from the Voyageur Place homepage http://www.usask.ca/residence/student_residences/voyageur_place.php)*QuAppelle Hall is also known as Kelsey Hall and QuAppelle Addition is also known as LAV. Do not worry though, the many names of the different place is Voyageur Place will soon become familiar if you come to live here. And yes, that is orange shag carpet in QuAppelle Addition, though frightening, it will soak up any spill and still look the same. (These are images from the Voyageur Place homepage http://www.usask.ca/residence/student_residences/voyageur_place.php)*Voyageur Place has a variety of facilities. Lets have a look at some of them!*This is the Saskatchewan Hall Gym. It is not open very much but there will be the occasional dodge ball tournament held here. There may also be a variety of other events held here such as speed dating, and the free math, science, and English Tutors that Voyageur Place provides. *Voyageur Place boasts the best pool tables between the Physical Activity Complex and the The Cove in lower Place Riel. It also has a foosball and air hockey table. All required equipment can be signed out from the RA Booth down the hall, why dont we go there next.*The RA booth is where the on duty Residence Assistant hangs out and where you can find an RA at night or sign out equipment for the games room.*Each of the four halls has at least one kitchenette. Each Kitchenette has a stove, microwave, sink, water kettle, and fridge. Heres a tip: make sure you put your name on your food if you are going to use the fridge, sometimes other people will eat it.*All the halls have a study lounge. Each Study lounge have couches and tables to work at. If you want to work in groups, go to the lounge in Saskatchewan Hall (a.k.a. the Fish Bowl (because it has large windows into the hallway outside)) or the QuAppelle Hall Study Lounge. If you are looking for somewhere quiet go to the Gold Lounge in Athabasca Hall (Tip: Do not make any noise here, you will get mean looks). *Each of the halls have at a tv lounge with cable tv. Athabasca hall has two tv lounges. If you and your friends are looking for something to do, you can rent a dvd player or hook up your computer and watch movies in one of the lounges.*Athabasca, QuAppelle, and Saskatchewan all have laundry rooms with coin operate washing machines and dryers. Each laundry room has a large laundry sink as well as an iron and ironing board. Beware of the Saskatchewan Hall Basement though*There are a number of storage rooms located underneath Saskatchewan Hall. There is are bicycle winter storage and personal storage rooms that you will need to contact a Residence Assistance about. There is also a hockey bag storage room that is open for everyone in residence. All you have to do is put your name on the sign up sheet on the door, pick a locker and lock your stuff up! You will need to bring your own lock.*That concludes our tour. I hope that it will be helpful in your decision to stay in the Voyageur Place Residences at the University of Saskatchewan.*
