WHAT IS IT ?• Atopic Dermatitis is a disease that often

appears before a child’s firs birthday and causes itchy skin that is red, warm and tender.

HOW YOU CATCH IT ?

- Around the 90% of the persons get Atopic Dermatitis before their 5th birthday. - Researchers are still studing the causes of Atopic Dermatitis.Through their studies, they have learned that Atopic Dermatitis is not contagious. It is genetic.

SYMPTOMS IN A BABY

• If a baby gets Atopic Dermatitis during this time (before his first birthday), dry and scaly patches appear on the skin.

SYMPTOMS IN A CHILD• If a child gets Atopic Dermatitis between the 2

years and the age of puberty:– It appears a rash that often begins in the creases of

elbows and knees. Other common places for the rash to appear are the neck , wrists, ankles, and/or crease between the buttoks and legs.

– There are itchy, scaly patches where the rash appeares.
