Students begin a new set of four classes on January 17, 2017.

DIRECTOR’S

COMMENTS

Mr. Crawford reported:

Rebecca Miller, and THS Team worked hard on Accreditation Project, thank you

for a job well done. All Broward Technical Colleges are A’s schools again.

We are busy with upcoming February, 2017 Dental Program Accreditation.

The SMART program is a 5-7 year initiative outlining the scope of work

(renovations and construction projects) scheduled to take place throughout

BCPS. SMART SPOTLIGHT flyer will keep you and your school community

informed. Two projects, were completed already, new Main Entrance Canopy at

Building #1 and re-roofing.

Welding lab will be going through a much needed upgrade.

We are moving forward with the Learning Commons/Media Center Project for

Atlantic Technical College, Building 19, Main Campus.

We have 7,000 students, a record number.

New partnership was created with Junior Achievement of South Florida (JA), an

organization that works to promote understanding of entrepreneurship, career

preparedness, and financial literacy.

Research shows that students in NAF academies achieve better results than those

in the same school district who are not in NAF academies. Distinguished

academies realize even greater student outcomes. We are implementing a strategy

to gain Distinguished Academy designation.

Version No. 2 of the 2017-18 proposed calendar, which closely reflects the

2016/17 would be the best choice for the Technical Colleges.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Elissa Harvey thanked SAC members for their support.
