Eagles Nest Update Eagles Nest Construction Academy is approaching the completion of the exterior wall construction, of its third home. Students have excelled at laying CMU (Concrete Masonry Units), known to many as concrete block or cinder block. Currently, we are at the stage of setting lintel across the window and door openings and a waiting for the steel for the tie beam. It is great to see students come together and accomplish various construction tasks. Students gained the realization that all their hard work was really starting to become a housewiththesettingofthefirstlintelacrossthe garage door opening. Team work has made this possible. Huge thank you goes out to Lott’s Concrete Products, Inc. for the donation of all the lintels for the house. We have been set back from our construction goal, for the weather has kept us off site. To offset this we spent a day on site where we caught up some. Another day is in the planning for the construction of the porch beams. This will be another major accomplishment for Eagles Nest students. A big thank you to Mrs. Ocampo, our principal, who believes in us and supports us. Thank you to everyone who supports Eagles Nest Construction Academy, too!
