AF direct drive series:

compact and lightweight

SUPERB COOLING, A MUST

Altlas Copco’s AF direct drive series is designed for the professional

and semi-professional. It combines reliability and ease-of-use in

one compact and lightweight package. In general, directly driven

compressors run at a higher speed compared to belt driven

products. Consequently, more heat is generated. To counter this

effect, our AF series is outfitted with features and details that

are specially developed to dissipate heat. Direct drive units are

available in 2 and 3 hp versions.

• Aluminium materials ensure the best heat dissipation.

• Overload protection.

• High cooling fins on crank case, cylinder and cylinder head

provide a larger cooling surface.

• Well-sized air filter in a robust metal housing extends

AC belt drive series:

solid tradition

LONG TROUBLE-FREE LIFETIME

Atlas Copco’s AC belt drive series stand for robustness and

reliability. They ensure continuous operation in a wide range of

applications and only require a minimum of maintenance. Bigger

workshops and garages with higher air demands in terms of flow

and pressure will benefit most from belt driven compressors.

As these units generally operate at lower rpm (rotations per minute),

they generate less heat. To maintain the required air flow,

the compressor blocks need to be well-dimensioned.

Belt driven units are available in versions from 2 to 10 hp.

To inflate large truck tires, a 15 bar unit is required.

• As the compressor’s wear is directly related to the rotations

per minute made by the compressor pump, the Automan’s

slow-running and well-dimensioned pumps ensure a longer

machine life-time.
