    3 Connect the power adapter.

    Use on ly the pow er adapter prov ided w i th th is produc t . To obta in a

    replacement, call 1 800 PCC9125.

    Plug one end of the p ow er adapter into the jack labeled ADAPTERon th e back of the ph one. Plug the oth er end into a standard

    elect r ical out let .4 Connect the handset cord.

    Plug one end of th e coi led handset cord into the jack on t he bot to m

    of the ph one. Plug the other end into t he handset , and hang up.

    5 Check for d ial tone.

    Lift th e handset and l isten for a dial ton e. I f you cann ot h ear a dialtone, turn to IN CASE OF DIFFICULTY in this manual.

    Hold dow n the sw i tchhook , then pu l l the tab out and ro ta te i t 180degrees. Release the tab so it sett les into p osit ion .

    2 Install 3 AAA batteries.

    Press i n on t he t abs and rem ove t he t elephone base .

    Press i n on t he t abs on t he bat t er y doo r, and rem ove i t .

    3 Turn the base, as shown, and attach it to the bottom of the

    phone.

    7 Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

    Convenience Port: I f you w ant to con nect anoth er device (such as

    an answ er ing m achin e or fax m achin e) to th e w al l jack, you can usethe jack on the ph one labeled AUX. Th is conven ience por t w i l l

    Conference Cal lsTh is featur e lets you set up a thr ee-part y call by using tw o l in es at the samet im e. You can also jo in an in tercom cal l w i th a cal l on an outs ide l ine.

    1 Make or answ er a call.

    2 Press and releaseH.

    3 Cal l som eone on anoth er l ine.

    4 W hen th is call is answ ered, pr essC. The three-party conference

    begins immediately.

    5 To end a conference cal l , hang up . Al l par t ies w i l l d i sconn ect .

    To talk privately with one party:

    1 PressH to p lace both l ines on ho ld .

    2 Press a LINE but ton to talk p r ivately wi th th e person on th at l ine.3 PressC to resume con ference cal l .

    To drop one line:

    Press the LINE but t on of th e party you w ant to keep. Th e other l ine w i l l be

    dropped.

    NOTE: Occasiona lly, the far-end par ti es on a conference call m ight no t

    hear one another.
