Introduction and Key FeaturesThe Gateway Administration Tool (GAT) acts as a bridge between the Push-to-Talk (PTT) system and the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system for providing interoperability . PTT uses subscriber’s phone numbers as a unique identifier to make or receive calls while LMR uses different types of identities depending upon the type of the network .

A brief description of the key features of the Gateway Administration Tool is as follows .

Manage UnitsThis menu allows you to map PTT Phone Numbers to LMR Units .

Manage PTT SubscriberThis menu allows you to view and export the LMR Subscriber IDs for the PTT subscribers .

Manage Groups This menu allows you to view and export the LMR Group IDs for the PTT Groups .

Getting StartedPrerequisitesRequired BrowsersThe Gateway Administration Tool (GAT) requires one of the following browsers . You must ensure that the browser you are using meets the following requirements:

• Internet Explorer (IE) 10 and IE 11

• Mozilla Firefox 25 or higher

• Safari 5 or higher

• Google Chrome 40 or higher

Ensuring Correct Display of the Website

Enabling Pop-upsThe GAT opens in a new browser window . You will have to enable pop-ups to access the GAT .

Reset ZoomingTo display the GAT properly, ensure that the browser you are using has a zoom setting of 100% . To reset the zoom to 100%, press CTRL+0 (zero) on your keyboard .

Logging into the GATLogin to GAT by clicking on the GAT icon within the header area of CAT .

Navigating the GAT

Header AreaThe header area contains the Logo, Application Name, Corporate ID, Corporate Name, User Account, and Settings .

User AccountThe User Account drop-down consists of the User ID and Exit option . The User ID gives the User details .

ExitingTo exit the Gateway Administration Tool, click the Exit option .

Settings and Language SelectionThe settings provide a drop-down option for language selection and displays the application version . If your service provider supports multiple languages, you can switch between languages using the drop-down box shown below . If there is no choice to make in this box, it means that only one language is supported by your provider .

The settings also provide details about the version number of the GAT .

Navigation AreaThe left side of the GAT home page is the navigation area . This area provides quick navigation to the Home page, Manage Units page, Manage PTT Subscribers page, Manage Groups page, HELP page, and Training Videos page .

Home MenuClick the Home icon to return to the GAT landing page anytime . If you have unsaved data, you will be given an option to save your changes prior to switching to the home page .

Manage Units MenuClick the Manage Units Menu to view the Manage Units work area .

Manage PTT Subscribers Menu

Click the Manage PTT Subscribers menu to view the Manage PTT Subscribers work area .

Manage Groups Menu

Click the Manage Groups menu to view the Manage Groups work area .

HELP MenuClick the HELP menu to view the Help . The HELP is opened in a new browser window .

Training Videos MenuClick the Training Videos menu to view the Training Videos .

If there are no training videos available, the icon will be disabled .

Work AreaThe right side of the GAT home page is the work area . When you select a task in the navigation area, the results are displayed in the work area . This also allows you to perform detailed activities such as manual mapping of LMR Subscriber to real LMR Unit ID .

The following image shows an example of the work area showing the details of Manage Units .

Help/Landing PageThe Gateway Administration Tool has a single landing page, which consists of the help text and the three menu options to select .

IconsThe following table lists the common icons you will see in the GAT application in alphabetical order .

Name Icons Description

HELP The HELP icon is displayed in the Navigation area . When clicked, the corresponding HELP page is displayed in a new window .

Help The help icon is displayed in the work area . When clicked, depending on the current location, the corresponding HELP page is displayed in a new window .

Home The Home icon is displayed in the Navigation area . When clicked; a user is taken to the GAT landing page .

Manage Groups This icon is used to display the Manage Groups Menu .

Manage PTT Subscribers

This icon is used to display the Manage PTT Subscribers Menu .

Manage Units This icon is used to display the Manage Units Menu .

Reload The Refresh icon is displayed in the work area . When clicked, the current work area data are refreshed .

Settings This icon is to indicate settings in the GAT application, on click of this icon will display language choices and Version ID .

Training Videos This icon is to indicate the training videos, on click will open in new window .

Training Videos Disabled

This icon is to indicate the training videos are disabled .

User Account This icon is displayed to indicate the User Account in the GAT application, on click of this icon will display User ID and Exit option .

SearchingThere are search fields for each menu in the work area on the GAT UI where you can search for a specific row . The search narrows down and shows matching results as you are typing . The search is not case sensitive .

Search by Name, PTT Phone Number or IDThe table records for each menu work area can be searched by a specific name, PTT unit phone number or an LMR ID . Type the name, PTT phone number, or LMR ID you are looking for in the search .

The following example shows all the records where there is ‘1F .1FF .123FF’ in the table .

Pagination, Rows per Page and Total RowsOn each work area, there is a pagination option where you can go through the data one page at a time . The “Rows per Page” is a drop-down, which gives selection options for displaying the number of rows in the table . The UI also has a section to display the Total Rows in the table .

Manage UnitsSelection of Manage Units MenuTo select the Manage Units Menu, click the icon and the details will be displayed in the work area .

The Manage Units work area consists of following information .

NameYou cannot edit the name of the LMR Subscriber from the GAT . You can change the name from the CAT .

PTT Unit Phone NumberYou cannot edit a phone number . It is assigned by AT&T at the time of service sign up .

RFSS IDThere is a drop-down list of RFSS IDs in each row . The values for this list are read from server .

LMR Unit IDThis field is used to assign manually the LMR Unit ID to LMR Subscriber . This field is disabled until the selection of RFSS ID is made . Once the RFSS ID and LMR Subscriber ID mapping is available, field will be always in Editable state . You can change the LMR Unit ID as long as the RFSS ID mapping is established .

FilteringThere is a filter field in work area of the Manage Units in the GAT User Interface (UI) where you can narrow down the LMR Unit ID records by filtering .

To filter the LMR Unit IDsSelect the filter drop-down list to display the following options .

• All

• Unassigned (This filters the entries for which the mapping is not done yet .)

NotesThe input field “Notes” is used to enter the notes for each record .

Click Save to save your changes

Click Cancel to discard the changes .

Manage GroupsSelection of Manage Groups menuTo select a Manage Groups, click the icon and the details will be displayed in the work area .

The Manage Groups work area consists of following information .

NameYou cannot edit the name of the LMR Subscriber from the GAT . You can change the name from the CAT .

PTT Group Phone NumberYou cannot edit a phone number . It is assigned by AT&T at the time of service sign up .

PTT Group NameYou cannot edit a Group from GAT . However, you can change the PTT Group Name for the PTT Group from CAT .

LMR Group IDYou cannot edit a LMR Group ID . Contact your service provider if you want to reassign a LMR Group ID .

ExportThis chapter describes how to generate reports for the data in Manage Units work area, Manage PTT Subscribers work area and Manage Groups work area .

Export allThere is an export all check box column in the header of the table for all the three work areas . On checking this check box, you can select all the rows of the current page .

Click Export button to export the data, and then select Save to save the CSV file report that is generated

OR

Click Cancel to abort the operation .

Export individual rowsThere are export check boxes in each row for all the three-work area to select specific rows of the data tables .

Select Save to save the CSV file report that is generated

OR

Click Cancel to abort the operation .

Note: A new pop-up window with a “Save” dialog box appears with CSV file for available selection . If this dialog box does not appear, then a pop-up blocker for the respective browser settings is enabled . For more information on disabling the pop-up blocker, refer to “Ensuring Correct Display of the Website” . In the Safari browser, the CSV file is opened in a new window . You can now perform a Save operation by clicking CTRL+S or (File > Save) .

In the Chrome browser, if the ‘Ask where to save each file before downloading’ under Advanced Downloads settings is enabled, and then the CSV file is saved to the default download location .

In order to change the name and location of the file saved, follow the below instructions as per the browser used .

Google Chrome Settings --> Advanced --> Downloads --> “Ask where to save each file . . . .”

Open the settings menu by clicking on the icon that looks like a small wrench on the Google Chrome toolbar .

1 . Choose Options if you are using a Windows computer or Preferences if you are using a Macintosh computer .

2 . Go to the “Under the Hood” tab and find the section titles “Downloads .” From here, you can change the download location using one of the following methods .

3 . Use the “Change” button and browse to the folder that you want to be used as the default download directory where downloads should be saved .

4 . Put a mark inside the check box next to “Ask where to save each file before downloading” if you want Google Chrome to ask you where a download should be saved every time you try to download a new file .

5 . Apply your new settings by pressing OK.

Firefox 1 . Go to the Tools menu by clicking on Tools on the top bar of

the Firefox browser .

2 . Select Options.

3 . Go to the main settings tab and look for the section labeled “Downloads .” At this stage, you can change the download folder using one of the following methods .

4 . Use the Browse button and go to the folder where you want the downloads to be saved . This will assign your default folder for all downloads in future .

5 . Put a dot next to “Always ask me where to save files .” If you select this option, you will always be asked where you want a download to be saved before the Downloads window pops up showing you the progress of the download .

6 . Click the OK button to confirm your new settings .

Internet Explorer 1 . Click on Export button on GATUI, we will get one confirmation

at the bottom of the browser .

2 . The User needs to select Save As in the drop-down . Therefore, a user can give the file name and location of file .

TroubleshootingUser Interface IssuesWhen I click on the Gateway Administration Tool (GAT) link, nothing happens.Enable pop-ups on your browser . Refer to the “Ensuring Correct Display of the Website” section of this document for more information on how to enable popups in your web browser .

If Corporate Administrative Tool session is expired then, GAT will not open . You must re-login to CAT and launch GAT .

The layout of Tool is not displaying properly and some UI Components are not functioning properly.Please make sure you are using the right version of the browser . Refer to “Required Browsers” for more information .

Also, make sure that the zoom is set to 100% . Refer to “Reset Zooming” for more information .

The Save button is disabled.There are no changes to save .
