MSP Case (max 100 words):
What is the issue the MSP tries to address?Poverty is deep rooted among the inhabitant of Harripur district and specifically women of the area are not empowered in terms of decision making, income and mobility. Considerable portion of these women are associated with seedlings productions. Low production and limited income share of women seedlings producers has brought Mennonite Econ Development Economic Development Associate and Sarhad Rural Support Programme to initiate a market development value chain project, a unique MSP, for improving income opportunities for the poor women of the Harripur district involving all the stakeholders in the process. Women producers are reluctant to work with CNOs and instead they demanding free inputs and marketing from the project. During the process the stakeholders especially women seedling producers need to be convinced, increase investment in their businesses to increase production to get better income.

VISION (3-5 YEARS)Explanation vision about the MSP in 3- 5 years
Income of the women associated with seedlings production will be increased to 50 percent by improved market information and established market linkages. SRSP and MEDA under the project activities will organize the women seedling producers in to viable groups having selected and trained their lead farmers and sale agents. These sale agents will have established linkages with the commercial nursery owners and technical and market information flow has been established. In this way market and demand driven seedling production and marketing through lead farmers and sale agent will be started. Marketing of their produce by the lead farmer/sale agent in the first tow years will further increase both individual production of producers and also will act as motivating factor to encourage other producers to start seedling production which will further play role in the betterment of women seedling producers.
