 Itinerary – Saturday 6 July 2013 

 9.00am – Tablelands Way Farmers Markets – St Barnabas Anglican Church Grounds.  10.00am – Masonic Lodge will open their building to members of the public for the first time in 90 years.  The Mayor will cut a ribbon at the lodge to officially get the celebrations underway.  11am – Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of NSW arrives  in Oberon – to be met by the Mayor at the front of the Malachi Gilmore Hall to view the Heritage Street Parade.  11am – Heritage Street Parade  to be held  in  the Main Street of Oberon concluding at  the Oberon Showground.  12.30pm – Official Opening of the 150 Year Celebrations to be conducted  in the Showground Main Pavilion.  Official party will include Her Excellency, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of NSW, Mayor of Oberon, Clr John McMahon, Member for Bathurst Paul Toole MP, Member for Calare, The Hon  John Cobb MP, Vice Chair of Oberon Business Association, Brian Dellow and Pam Dellow and Vice Chair of Oberon Plateau Tourism Association Bob Parrington and Sally Parrington.   Speeches, cutting of  the  celebration  cake  and presentation of winners of  the Cake Decorating Competition, Shop Window Display and Postcard competition.  1.00pm – Lunch for official guests to be catered by the Combined Churches of Oberon and served in the Main Pavilion at the Oberon Showground.  1.45pm  ‐  2.45pm  – Her  Excellency  Professor Marie Bashier AC  CVO will  view  the  displays  at  the Showground.  3.00pm – Her Excellency will visit the Oberon Masonic Lodge.  3.30pm – Her Excellency will visit the Oberon RSL Sub‐branch Military Museum and lay a wreath at the Ataturk Stone.  6.30pm – Sesquicentenary Celebration Dinner to be held at the Oberon RSL Club.

As part of the 150 years Celebrations you are invited to enter a decorated cake for judging.

The cake will only be judged on creativity and theme, not

on taste.

Cakes need to be delivered to the Oberon Showground Hall on Friday 5 July 2013 between 2pm

and 5pm. Judging will take place on Saturday 6 July 2013, after the street parade.

Shop Window Competition

Celebrate 150 years with the entire community Businesses in Oberon are invited to decorate their shop window or

create a display in their business, focusing on a heritage theme.

The Community will vote for the best decorated window or shop display.

Competition is open immediately and will close on Monday 1st July.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be announced after the street parade at the

Oberon Showground on Saturday 6 July 2013.

Voting forms are to be deposited in ballot box in reception area at Council.
