Nomination of Deacons

On Sunday, July 9, you will have the opportunity to nominate those within our membership, who you feel exemplify the characteristics of a Deacon. We’re

compiling a list of eligible candidates who have been a member for at least one year and

who are at least 21 years old. We will have the list available for you by Sunday,

July 2.

The Deacon Nomination Committee will take all the nominations and submit a list of

nominees to the Deacons by their August meeting. The Deacons will have the responsibility of compiling a final list of nominees - two for each vacancy. By mid-August,

they hope to be able to present this list to the church for prayerful

consideration. We will vote by written ballot during our annual Church

Conference on Wednesday, August 30.

If you know you will not be at church on Sunday, July 9, please see Michael Groce or Johnny Ray, so you can submit your list of nominees.

Countdown to Impact On Sunday evening - June 18th, MBC will feed 800 plus at Forbush High School. During the Week of Impact, we’ll provide lunches for 2 work sites and the adult volunteers leading the small children’s “Party In the Park” being held at the Yadkin County Park. The crews for our 2 sites and crew chiefs will join us for worship on Sunday, June 18th,,

lunch following, hosted by our food volunteers.

We need your help in providing food and snack items. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated. If you donate by

check - make payable to Maplewood and note on memo line “IMPACT FOOD”. There will be a container on table for

monetary donations or you may give to Frances Johnson, Shannon White, Bradley Cranfill or Pastor Jimmy.

Father’s Day - June 18 - 10:30 am Enjoy award winning entertainer & speaker, Scott Humston. He

overcame a speech related birth defect to become a full time evangelist – who

uses illusion & humor to share the message of the Gospel!! He has been

motivating & inspiring people of all ages for the last 25 years. Go to our

website & watch the promo video…make sure to spread the word!!

Paige & Morgan will be sharing in a special time of “children’s church on June 11, July 2, 9, 16, 30, Aug 6, 13, 20 and 27. On these Sunday’s, they will escort our boys & girls to the Fellowship Bldg after the offering prayer. Each week, they will be sending home “an activity” that summarizes the lesson. This will provide you the opportunity to ask questions & engage your child in conversation.

Carowinds Make plans to enjoy some family fun at Carowinds - Monday, June 12. We’ll meet at MBC at 8:00 am and plan on returning around 6 pm. The cost is $ 25* (*need at least 15 to receive this group rate). Please bring a bag lunch or bring $$ to eat in the park. For the safety & wellbeing of our group, anyone 5th grade & below MUST have a designated chaperone. The DEADLINE to SIGN UP is Wednesday - June 7!
