Rocla Industries – Intranet Web Application Developer

National Risk Assessment Register - Hazard and Risk Assessment Control System (HRAC)

Only an initial meeting was convened to gain clarification of the business requirements. Present a Senior Rocla IT representative, a fellow Project leader and myself as the uninitiated web application developer. The business requirements were presented as a prototyped MsAccess application. The prototype had been developed by an ambitious OHS officer with informal IT Skills. The mission: To develop a Web based application to operate nationally on Rocla’s internal corporate intranet, collecting, monitoring and disseminating site specific Hazard and Risk Assessment Survey data for each site broken down further by work station and operator function. Project management:Project status and issues were emailed weekly to the client IT rep. and an onsite Praxa Project Manager. The level of effort:Three months of intense development weaving newly learnt web skills, Client Side Javascript, DHTML Server side IIS, ASP COM+, vbscript, VBA, SQLServer, Microsoft Access reports resulting in a seamless crisp and functionally accurate corporate Information System.The Issues: All projects have their issues however with sufficient time, commitment and ability very few of them are rarely insurmountable. Retrofitting post implementation requirements like a security scheme enabling partitioned user access proved challenging however the resulting solution proved simple due to the flexibility of the underlying data model and database design.

Target Platform:This application was designed for ie5 or later Microsoft browsers running on Windows XP/2000 client computers connected via a corporate intranet to an IIS5.0 web server and a Sql Server 2000 database server.

Praxa's Select Ordering System (PSOS)

Microsoft Volume Software License Reseller Billing Application.Attila liaised with Senior Accounting Staff to design, build, implement and test the Nationally required GST compliancy changes for customer invoicing for each of the three state based (Qld, NSW and Victorian) variants of the PSOS application. On the strength of his ability to acquire both deep business and technical knowledge, Attila worked with Senior Marketing Staff to consolidate these application variants into a single National application. The new and improved incarnation now sported a crisp and friendlier look and feel and now included the provision for Select 5 and Enterprise Licensing Agreements Customer support, along with a number of longstanding end user requested enhancements.

Mail & Networks - Mail Redirection System (MRS)

Attila was a MRS System Test Team member providing quality assurance for the v1.1 Production release of this national web based solution.Attila also provided support for the variety of test environments required during the system and integration testing phases.

National Retail Group - Retail Ticketing System (RTS)

Attila was based at Australia Post premises to administer the transitioning and replacement of the National Retail Ticketing System. During this process Attila represented the client’s business requirements during the development and implementation of a new Retail Ticketing System (RTS). Additionally he developed and assisted with the support of several of the Retail Group's Microsoft Office based applications.

RTS - National Retail Ticketing System

A small but high profile 3-tier web and rich client server application built using MTS, SQL Server 7, VB 6 and Crystal Reports 7 to provide timely and accurate shelf edge price tickets for Australia Post Retail outlets and Licensed Post Offices.

In collaboration with a senior business analyst, Attila developed and implemented Test Plans which focused on conformance to key user requirements.

NetPOS - Business Opportunity Registry

Attila designed and developed a bespoke CRM application used to assist tracking and evaluating internal and external retail business opportunities.

Logistics– Monthly Inventory Reports

Attila designed and developed an application to automate the production of Inventory Pivot table reports published monthly and available nationally on the Retail Intranet.

Shared Services Centre - Missing Cheque Application (APO)

Based at Australia Post premises, Attila upgraded the APO Missing Cheque Application from a single user application to a multi-user Nationally focused solution, inclusive in this exercise was the implementation of several performance enhancements with a recommendation for further enhancements.

Financial & Business Systems - Process Costing Model (PCM)

Attila worked in conjunction with the Victorian Finance and Business Planning Unit of Australia Post to successfully developing a prototype of an activity based costing and benchmarking system. The project team reported to a National Steering committee.

PCM – Process Costing Model

Attila developed and delivered the production client/server application based on the prototype using Microsoft products. The application integrated a third party Activity Based Costing Modeling application (NetProphetII).

Software used: Visual Basic, RDO, SQL Server with stored procedures, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access & Excel, NetProphetII and TM1 OLAP Analysis.

Tax Reform Project (GST post Y2K)

Attila worked on a number of Tax Reform projects.

Based at Australia Post corporate headquarters, Attila provided support and development services to APSIS for a number of key applications.

DEMRA – Security Records Armed Robbery Investigation System

Attila worked at Praxa as a developer part of a small development team providing Technical direction in delivering this 2-tiered client/server application. His acquired knowledge of the Security Records Analysis System proved fundamental in the delivering and in meeting and exceeding client expectation.

ISYS – Information Text Search and Retrieval Project

Attila developed the business case and then implemented his strategy for the Australia Post Security Investigation Services (APSIS) group using the ISYS Text retrieval engine on the several Windows platforms.

Attila was based at Australia Post premises and provided Vax/Microsoft application enhancements together with first, second and third level support for the Security Records Analysis System.

Corporate Solicitors - Entry of Legal Times (LET)

Based at Praxa, Attila solely redeveloped the LET application used for recording client contact times by Australia Post Corporate Solicitors for client billing purposes. The application was retrofitted to use NT security by the client server model rather than the workgroup security provided by Microsoft Access.

Financial & Business Systems - Stock in Transit Reconciliation System (SITRS)

Attila made enhancements to a visual basic front-end application providing screens and reports enabling reconciliation of stock data sourced from the EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) and SAP Warehousing systems and loaded into an Oracle database.

Computerised Lettergram Client Lodgement System (CLINK)

Attila worked on a small development team to replace a TurboPascal/DOS front-end application with a Microsoft Access using the Windows communication API to communicate by modem with a message routing gateway via a custom Unisys protocol.

Attila provided support for this national retail application

JSX – JES/328X Change and Support Team

Attila worked as a member of a small specialist team supporting JES/328X(JSX), a remote printing control system for IBM mainframes. The JSX CHANGE TEAM is the only service provider for the JES/328X product. We received daily service calls from international IBM customer representatives.

The role required a detailed understanding of the SNA host communications protocol and ACF/VTAM in relation to JES/328X installation, setup and operation.
