What is an Exchange?o An exchange vendor contracts with insurance

carriers to offer a variety of Medicaresupplemental policies (Medigap) and MedicareAdvantage plans to retirees of participatingemployers.

o The plans are individual plans; not group rated.

o The retiree may select from among the plansoffered on the exchange; the spouse must selecta separate plan - can be different plan.
