What do you consider a good manner to entertain a child and why?

Playing games, its a good manner to entertain a child. Play with him(the child) teach him spend a good time with him.

Fairy Tales, because the child will focus on it, stimulating the child creativity.

Other important thing is to know adjectives as many as you can, this kind of interview tend to ask you things like Who

do you admire the most? What are your qualities and flaws? What kind of behavior do you despise or admire in

    a person?

-Based on it heres a list of adjectives you might use:

-My father, because he was a good man. He was always happy he was a positive person he had a great personality.

-I admire PEOPLE WHO ARE honest, sincere and intelligent(Witty),however I dont like PEOPLE WHO ARE insensible, who

tell lies (PHONY=FALSE,LIER,SOMEONE YOU CANT BELIEVE) and are BAD-TEMPERED./temperdi/

    Needy Spoiled Easygoing

    Shy Funny Polite

    Impolite Messy Organized

    Neat Witty Stubborn

    Patient Friendly Girly

    Sensible Creative Helpful

    Outgoing Spontaneous Secure

    Insecure Lazy Impulsive

    Kind Mean Smug

.You can express yourself using People WHO are:

Example: I love children who are creative and friendly, however I dont like children who are messy

Remember: If theres a WHY in your question, use BECAUSE by the beginning of your answer.

However and But are excellent to contrast ideas.

-Reading some Au Pairs blog Ive found that a common question they use is it:

    2/3

    .Talk about someone you admire:

This questions seems to be an easy one, most of us would pick our mother as an example so do not forget the THIRD

    PERSON RULES:

Example: The person I admire the most in life it is my mother, she is an excellent person, patient, organized, reliable,

someone I can trust. She LOVES living and TREATS others with respect and tenderness.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Past

we use the past tense to express actions that are OVER.

Example: What is your favorite childhood memory?

USED TO : When my mom used to pick me up at school

Where did you travel on your last vacation?

On my last vacation I went to Argentina , Buenos Aires WHERE I spent 10 days

What did you used to do when you were a child?

I used to go to school I used to go to parks I used to play with boys toys.

What was your favorite free time activity? My favorite free time activity used to be play with my brother.

What did you use to collect?

I didnt use to collect ANYTHING.

Be aware that the most common past use in English its not the SIMPLE PAST, but the PRESENTE PERFECT, a structure

that talks about something that started on your past but it has a result in your present life:

    Example:

Have you ever had any problem with children? No I have never

Have you ever had any abroad experience? Yes I have, I have been to Argentina for pleasure.

Have you ever worked with children? Yes I have, I have worked as a volunteer

Has a member of your family ever lived abroad? No, Nobody.(No one)

Those questions are simply answered by saying Yes, I have or No I havent or even No, I have never.

Example: Have you ever had any abroad experience?

Yes, I have traveled to Italy (Ok, it means that you are experienced, in your life you have visited a foreign

country and it results as a POSITIVE POINT for the interviewer. By the next point to describe this experience we you are

going to use the simple past) where Ive lived for 3 months. I traveled to Italy in 2002 and there I worked as a waitress

    ()

WHEN YOU MENTION TIME YOU USE SIMPLE PAST

    Hypothetical Situations:

IfI would- Example: If you could show a tourist your city what spots would you show?

-The answer is in the question, repeat the structure and you will have a clear answer:

Ex: If I could show a tourist a city spot I would show him Paulista Avenue WHERE our city concentrates most of it

    museums and shopping points.

.What would you do If you had a million dollar?

.What would you do if a child mistreated you?

.What would you do in a emergency situation?

.What else would you do if you werent an Au Pair?

.Which job field would you like to work?

.What would you do if the child you are looking after suffer an accident?

    Interview:

It is difficult to forecast what kind of questions the interviewer might ask you so its good being prepared for somepersonal questions like:

-Why would you like to be an Au Pair?

    -Do your family support you?

-What would you do or will you do by the time you return?

    -Can you cook?

-Can you describe the process of cooking?

-What do you do when a child starts crying?

-Can you drive? How often do you drive?
