FOOD FOR FINES/BOOK SALE RESULTS
We wish to extend a sincere “Thank You” to everyone
who participated in both the Food For Fines campaign, as
well as the Spring Used Book Sale. During Food For
Fines Week, 507 items were collected to go to local food pantries.
At the conclusion of our Spring Book Sale, proceeds totaled $2,190.81.

programs await patrons of all ages! Themes for this summer are as
follows:
Youth: Every Hero Has A Story

Adult: Escape The Ordinary
Youth and Teen registration begins June 1, with program running from
June 15-August 15.
Adult registration begins June 1, with program running from June 1-
July 31.

In its heyday, Hudson’s Department Store in
downtown Detroit was one of the premier stores in
America. Its displays and holiday events were legendary, and a visit
there was an exciting shopping experience. Join author Mike Hauser
as he relates the story of this Grande Dame of Detroit. Mike will bring
photos, advertisements, uniforms, and many other Hudson’s items.

play a round or two of Superhero Trivia featuring the Marvel and DC universes. We will
also have a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy (rated PG-13). Attendees under age 13

The Animal Fair With Maureen Schiffman (For Ages Birth-First Grade)

Little Heroes (For Ages Birth-2 Years, With Caregiver)
Wednesday, June 24, 10:30 - 11:30 am
Join us for an educational storytime with 20 minutes of songs, fingerplays, and books!
Each session, we focus on different literacy concepts for babies and toddlers. Stay a
bit longer for a free-play session with age-appropriate toys and books. Register for each

Little Explorers (Ages 1 Month-5 Years)
Saturday, June 13, 11:00 am - 12:00 noon
Come with your little explorer and join us for free-play, as well as hands-on sensory
stations. We’ll have lots of fun as we explore, create, and make new friends! Sensory
stations may get messy, so dress accordingly. Must be accompanied by caregiver.

Have you ever wanted to take things apart and see how they work? Join us for a
night of destruction and curiosity, as we take apart old pieces of technology and see
