welcome.Dear

Bonny Slope Parents and

Community Members,Well, it’s auction night! We’ve

spent the last nine months and hundreds of hours preparing for this very evening. And

now, here we are. And here YOU are. The ladies look gorgeous doing their Joan and Betty thing. The men look every bit as handsome as Don and Roger. But what are we all really doing here? What makes all the work worth it? The kids. Our kids. Those tiny humans we’ve been loving for what seems like a lifetime. The ones that make messes and say ridiculous things that make us laugh. The ones we kiss and put on a school bus, or shove out of a car every morning. Those beautiful pieces of ourselves that we send to an amazing school day after day, where they’re nurtured by a massive team of competent, knowledgeable, patient, caring and flat-out INCREDIBLE teachers and staff. We are a part of something special. And a big part of that special something requires BSCO funding. And year after year, you show up with your generosity and make all the programs that BSCO puts on possible. Not just for your own kids, but for ALL the kids at Bonny Slope. On behalf of BSCO, thank you for being here.

Dollars and Cents... Last year, we raised nearly $65,000 at the

auction. WOW, and THANK YOU! Because . auction was not yet relied upon as a fundraiser to support existing programs

and operating expenses, we had the opportunity to direct those funds to a significant capital project: the playground cover. As has been shared, the cover is happening and we expect it to be installed over the summer! This year, the auction has moved into the fold of ongoing fundraisers that are in place to support existing programs and operating expenses. Our minimum goal is $55,000 - simply to support known programs and expenses. If we exceed $55,000 or, even better, last year’s great initial performance, then we can earmark funds for new programs or future capital projects. BID AWAY!!

mASTer oFceremonieSAndy Boucher is a true “Mad Man” having spent 20 years in the ad world managing accounts as varied as Courvoisier and Head & Shoulders. He ran Mead Johnson Milk Formula and Pampers at the same time, and once remarked “there is pretty much nothing that goes in or out of a baby that I don’t have something to do with!”

Andy is a Bonny Slope community member, husband and parent-father to Lily (2nd grade) and Freddy (6th grade). He has been the key organizer of Bony Slope Elementary’s after school programs, facilitating many activities and events including the popular ski bus. In addition to having good humor and a charming accent, Andy is also a rugby player, seasoned chef and occasional advertising relationship guru. His next ambition is to become a member of the International freefall formation hang-gliding team.

We look forward to seeing him man the podium at the Bobcat Soiree!

AucTioneerPaul Shultz began performing benefit auctions in 1990 and underwent the training to become a professional auctioneer in 2000. He began working with Stokes Auction Group in 2004 and greatly enjoys the opportunity to serve a wide variety of organizations.

Paul’s genuine love of people shows from the stage, with his fundraising auction experience being wide and varied. Ranging from art associations to high schools, Paul has helped successful events take place across the country. When he’s not working with his voice, Paul works with his hands doing custom woodwork. A devoted husband and father, Paul loves taking his children camping and hunting.

We look forward to watching him in action at the Mad Affair!

oTherThinGSToBuYGolden TicKeTMuch like Charlie scoring a Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, this is your opportunity to win your choice of ANY Live Auction package for a mere $100 investment. You could be the lucky winner, but you MUST purchase one (or more) of the coveted Golden Tickets.

The Golden Ticket will be pulled at the start of the Live Auction portion of the event. The winner will have a few minutes to make his/her selection, after which the selection will be announced to the auction attendees, and that package removed from the auction block.

ONLY 75 TICKETS AVAILABLE!!! However, no limit to how many you purchase.

reSerVed PArKinG SPAce rAFFleFor the low price of $25, you have the opportunity to win a reserved parking space in the upper lot at Bonny Slope Elementary for the 2015/16 school year.

Beginning with the Back to School Picnic in August and through the last day of school in June, park in style and be the envy of all - especially at popular events when parking is scarce or when the rain is pouring!

LIMITED TO 100 TICKETS! The more you buy, the better your odds! Winner need not be present at the auction.

wAll oF wineBottle of red? Bottle of white? Depends upon your appetite. Take your pick at the Wall of Wine. For just $25, you’ll get to choose a mystery bottle from the wall. Plus, two of the mystery bottles have a $50 visa gift card hidden under the wrapper! The game of chance helps the school, and every player goes home with a bottle of wine and POSSIBLY a gift card - a win-win for all!

ArT on A cArdDo you love all the art pieces? Well, you are in luck! You can sign up for a commemorative set of note cards containing a photo of each of the art pieces presented this year. You might not be able to take home the main piece but you get to take home something special: one of EACH!

5Th GrAde TrAdiTionOne thing we added to our auction this year is the start of a tradition: the 5th grade mosaic project. This year, we had the fifth graders take each other’s portraits with the technology our beautiful school has at its disposal. Combined with a professional, all rights reserved, classic photo of our lovely city, the Faces of the Fifth Graders was created. You can bid on the full size, beautifully framed one of a kind art piece but as well, you can sign up to receive a smaller, poster of the print. See silent auction area for details.

1. Upon entry, each guest will be given a bid card. To bid in the silent auction, simply write your bid number on the silent auction bid form. To bid in the live auction, hold up high your bid card with the number toward the auctioneer. By bidding in the live or silent auctions, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.2. A bid acknowledged by the live auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. In the silent auction, designation by the silent auction official of the bid you have written as the top bid is a legal contract to purchase that silent auction item.3. Top bidders may pay for their items at the cashier stations, which open for regular service at the conclusion of the live auc-tion. It is not necessary to pay for each item after its purchase and we encourage you to pay for your purchases only once, at the end of the live auction. 4. Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only. The top bid amount for an auction item will not be split among bidders who may have agreed to pay a portion of the top bid amount. A purchaser who wishes to split the payment for an auction item must collect the individual payments from the other bidder(s). Then either present those payments to the cashier at the time the purchaser pays for the top bidder’s purchases or accept those payments as a partial reimbursement for the total pay-ment the purchaser has made.5. Payment in full is mandatory this evening. You may pay by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Please make your check payable to BSCO.6. Items may be removed only by showing a “paid” receipt obtained from the cashier.7. The successful bidder is responsible for locating and remov-ing all of his/her items, including certificates, the night of the auction, unless otherwise indicated. BSCO is not responsible for unclaimed items.

8. Please pay attention to all conditions, restrictions, and expira-tion dates on items and services. Restaurant gift certificates do not include tax, gratuity, or alcoholic beverages. Unless other-wise noted, all items and services must be claimed and used by date specified on giftcard or otherwise 1 year from event date.9. Dates for all trips and similar events must be mutually ar-ranged with donor, unless otherwise noted. All reservations should be made at least one month in advance. No refunds are permitted for canceled, lost, or unused tickets and/or accom-modations.10. BSCO has attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly. All items are sold “as is, where is.” BSCO neither warrants nor represents, and shall in no event be responsible for the correctness of the descriptions, genuineness, author-ship, provenance, or condition of the property. No statement contained in this catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.11. Auction Board reserves the right to add or withdraw, without notice, items to or from the auction.12. All purchases are final. No exchanges or refunds unless otherwise indicated.13. Each person issued a bid number (bidder) assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising there from BSCO, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction com-pany and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.14. Items that include bottles of alcohol may not be purchased by anyone under the age of 21.

LIVE AUCTION1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, who will confirm the sale by signing an auction invoice which constitutes a legal contract to buy.2. The auctioneer reserves the right to settle any and all dis-putes, complaints, misunderstandings, errors, and sales at his/her discretion. The auctioneer’s decision will be final.

SILENT AUCTION1. All items have bid sheets attached or nearby. Enter a bid by writing your bid number next to the bid amount you desire. Please press hard, as you are making three copies.2. You may skip ahead to the bid amount you want to pay. The next bidder must bid higher than you did to be successful.3. Each item has a “Guaranteed Purchase” option at the bottom of its bid sheet. Guaranteed purchase means you are willing to pay a premium price to guarantee you will own that item. Simply write your bid number by the predetermined sale price to close the item to further bidding.4. You may bid on any item in the silent auction until the section is closed at the posted time. Announcements will be made prior to each closing. An auction official will circle the top bid number and amount. You can see if you are the successful bidder by looking at a copy of the silent auction bid form, which is left in its place after the section is closed.

mAKe iT neATAs is tradition (is twice a tradition?!?), we’ll get the live bidding started with a bottle of booze! In honor of our theme, you will be bidding on a nice bottle of Scotch, and accompanying commemorative barware. One bottle, many glasses...this kind of campaign never goes out of style.

COLDWELL BANKER SEAL2275 W Burnside StreetPortland, OR 97210

I have successfully already sold several homes in the Bonny Slope Community in 2015.

I know how important of an investment a home is, but our kids are even more important.

Please keep that in mind as you raise your paddles tonight--because it is for our kids.

Become A Shoe deSiGnerUp to 6 lucky children have the opportunity to participate in PENSOLE Footwear Design Academy’s July course, sponsored by Footlocker. Pensole is an innovative footwear design academy that provides its students the opportunity and knowledge required to become professional footwear designers through a rigorous ‘learn by doing’ curriculum; aspiring designers work through the entire footwear process: inspiration, concept development, design, problem solving, materials, prototyping, marketing, business, networking, and branding. Founder D’Wayne Edwards won a Reebok design competition at the young age of 17, beating out a nationwide collection of college students and professionals. Edwards followed with a successful career at Nike and later was inspired to go out and create Pensole. The name? A No. 2 pencil designed his life. The young students will be assigned to a team of design students and participate in designing an athletic shoe from start to finish for 3 days over the span of the 3-week course (Wed July 15, 22 & 29). AND they get to come back for the final presentation of the team’s design on the last day (Fri July 31). Once in a lifetime experience for these youngsters and perhaps the inspiration for the next generation of shoe designers!Limited to children currently in 3rd, 4th or 5th grades. Generously donated by PENSOLE Footwear Design Academy through Stephanie & Ted Miller.

3rd GrAde “BlocKS oF PorTlAnd”Two separate themed pieces created using relief printing. Hammond’s and Arnold’s classes etched and printed Portland-themed objects. The objects were pieced together and matted and framed for a beautifully-finished work of art. (42”w x 30”h)Generously coordinated by Jill Bagley and Hannah Donohue.
