Audacity Tutorial

1. Open Start menu.

2. Click All Programs. 3. Click Audacity.

(Click cancel in Install VST Effects popup)

If popups appear, Click No, Cancel, OK.

4. Click Record (red button) to begin recording.

5. Click Stop (tan square button) to end recording.

Note: To record additional tracks after the first recording, click Shift key (on keyboard) and Record button at the same time.

6. If recording, you should see blue wave forms and a line at the end of the recording. (You may need to adjust the recording volume if too low.

7. To hear the recording, click Play (green arrow).

Name and Save the file 1. File>Export

2. Enter your name

and class period in the File name text field.

3. Click the dropdown arrow to open the Save as type dropdown menu.

4. Click MP3 Files. 5. Specify the folder

location where you want the file to be saved.

6. Click the dropdown arrow in the Save in: field. 7. Locate the folder where you

want to save the file.

8. After you open the folder where you want to save the file, Click Save.
