The A8 oers the latest, most advanced saety

systems designed to help avoid accidents

while helping to protect you i an accident isimminent. At the heart o this technology is

Audi pre sense.

All A8 models are equipped with Audi pre sense

basic. This system oers a number o occupant

protection eatures. These preventive measures

are activated when an emergency driving

maneuver is detected, such as heavy braking.

At that moment, a number o systems are

engaged. Saety belt pre-tensioners are

activated and i extreme lateral orces are

detected, the sunroo and windows close.

Externally, emergency hazard warning lights arealso turned on to warn surrounding vehicles.

Once the situation has dissipated and normal

driving conditions return, all systems revert

to their original state.

Saety technology is elevated to new heights

with Audi pre sense plus with Audi side assist

and adaptive cruise control. It oers all o

the preventive measures included in Audi

pre sense basic and adds a number o other

important eatures.

Should the system detect the risk o a rontal

collision through adaptive cruise control, the

driver will be given various warnings bothaudible as well as a partial application o the

brakes via Audi braking guard. In addition,

the airbags are primed and the brake system

pre-lled to ensure that maximum brake orce

is achieved with minimal pressure applied to

the brake pedal. I a collision is imminent,

ull-braking is applied automatically ollowing

the initial warnings. This is designed to reduce

the severity o the collision.

Audi pre sense plus also utilizes Audi side assist

or enhanced occupant protection. When a

collision scenario is detected rom the rear,seats and head restraints are adjusted or

maximum support. Additional protection

comes rom the pneumatic seat side sections,

which will be infated while the airbags

are pre-conditioned.

Audi lane assist: Audi lane assist alerts you to

detection extending your natural vision beyond

the range o your headlights up to 300 yards

through thermal imaging. This means that

despite how dark it may appear, pedestrians

and animals can be seen in the night vision

display. When people are detected, they are

highlighted in yellow as a warning. I the

detected individual moves into your path,they are highlighted in red, signiying a possible

critical situation.

Airbags*: The A8 is equipped with a ull

complement o ten airbags to oer additional

protection in the event o a collision.

weight-savings as well as overall increased
