Audience Feedback

Here is a basic outline of the feedback I got for my music video

Page 2: Audience Feedback

The Questionnaire

• I handed a questionnaire to 20 random people with

ages ranging from 17-25, in order to find out their

opinion on my music video.

• I asked for both positive and negative feedback, so

from them I found out what aspects of the music

video they enjoyed watching, and what aspects they

thought could be improved on.

• I also asked for any specific suggestions they thought

would improve my video

Positive Feedback

• Many people commented on the song choice going

well with the video as they believed by choosing a

video with no lyrics incorporated well with the idea

of an abstract video

• People also liked the way the editing of the video

goes with the beat of the song

• A lot of people also got the idea that the video tried

to create a dream like, alternative reality by

contrasting shots of Hull with New York

Negative Feedback

However, I also got some negative feedback from my

questionnaire:

• Some said that a stronger narrative may have been more

appealing for them to want to watch the video

• People also commented that some of the footage (more

specifically, the shots on the Empire State Building, and

the opening scene of the subway) were a bit shakey

• The lighting was also commented on, saying that is some

areas of the video it looks a bit too artificial

Overview of what I have

learned…

• So from my audience feedback, I have learnt that if I were to do it again, I would need to use a tripod more often than I did when filming in order to make my footage more steady, which would then increase the quality of it for my audience

• I should also try make a stronger narrative that would help my audience understand the video more

• Also to increase the quality of my video as well I should use proper lighting equipment for certain scenes when I can, in order to make it look more realistic and less ‘artificial’ as this was commented on by some of the people that filled in my questionnaire
