Your Name

Existing Products• This documentary is about illuminations. It

includes calm and peaceful music that makes these podcasts sound decent. It also has a voiceover that occurs throughout the podcast. There’s different bits of music included in the podcast and at different times which makes it more entertaining for listeners than just one song.

• There’s more than one voiceover actor in this podcast and they all talk about their thoughts and feelings. Somebody talks about their past and really goes into detail about the situation and sometimes talks about her present days as well. There are a load of different people from different countries in this podcast that talk about their experiences.

• The language is formal.• In my opinion I don’t enjoy podcasts however

people that are interested in podcasts might find it interesting, finding out what people feel and think.

Existing Products• This podcast has a lot of sound effects that occur

throughout, same as the voiceover and creepy music. The voiceover actor is talking about a story of people getting hurt and sounds like a dreadful story to talk about. There are other people that speak different languages and come from different countries in the podcast and are translated by the voiceover actor.

• There are different bits of music included the podcast that sound weird and creepy. I think this is because of the story that is being told.

• The language is very formal and the voiceover actor mainly talks about different stories by a couple of people that have had bad experiences.

• The audience in my opinion wouldn’t want to listen to this because it sounds weird and not interesting. The podcast in my opinion is boring and isn’t interesting, however people that like podcasts might enjoy this one because of the stories that are being told.

Existing Products• This podcast is about the latest football news, fixtures,

results, players, managers and the teams themselves. This podcast includes journalists and ex-footballers which makes more people listen to the podcast because some people that appear on the show are well known from the past or present days.

• The podcast has different sections that get introduced at certain times. For example, at the start of the podcast they talk about Manchester City and then when it hits 30 minutes into the podcast they change subjects to Everton.

• The language is informal, but uses sport specific language that only people into the sport will understand.

• The audience would like to listen to this because there is ex-footballers on the show and football is the most popular sport in the world so lots of people will tune in even if it’s a team they don’t like.

• They mainly talk about the situations of football teams and how things can change and the people on the show give their own opinions.

• The tone of the presenters and guests sounds positive and feel good about the game. They can talk negatives in a positive manor. The pace is quite slow as the timing of the show is over one hour and a half therefore there’s plenty of time to talk about anything during some of the fixtures.

Research Analysis• What common features do the researched products have? They all have more than one person on each podcast. You hear more than one story about more than one person. All of them have some kind of sound effects and/or music, which makes the podcast more entertaining. Music or sound effects adds something to any kind of audio because it makes it less boring for listeners and better to listen to. The sound effects are combined with the story told which happens in the first two podcasts. The football podcast doesn’t have much music or sound effects because it’s more of a chat show about football at the moment.

• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?I will include some sort of music in the background which will be calm and relaxing music. It won’t be too loud though because I would like my audience / viewers to listen properly. I will also include a voiceover in different parts of my documentary which will probably be sorted in the editing over some clips. I would include sound effects in my podcast so my audience will understand what’s going on whilst listening. For example if a vehicle is in my podcast I will include the noise of that vehicle whether it’s on concrete, in the mud or going over stones. That’s an example of what sound effects will be included.

Audience

Audience ProfileCategory Demographic Content to appeal to this audience

Age Range 12+• This age range is suitable because my documentary

would be about hobbies and interests. This means people of that age can finally decide on what their interests are and if they can achieve them

Gender Male and Female• It doesn’t matter what gender would prefer my

documentary because both male and female will be interested in my product.

Psychographic Belonger• Football can sometimes come from family members,

been told and shown how to do what they enjoy. These young people will get told this by family members and this will make more people interested in the podcast.

Social Status Any• Social status isn’t really appropriate for football because

anyone can see a football game whether it’s at the stadium, watching it on television, or going to a ‘outside of school’ game.
