Auditions will be on:Sunday July 14th from 7 – 9 PM Monday July 15th from 7 – 10 PM

They will be held at the Crighton Theatre PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING BOTH DAYS

Everyone is open to audition. Some roles have already been PRE-CAST.

They are noted on the website and not included in this packet.

Please check the rehearsal calendar BEFORE auditionsTo make sure this show will work with your schedule.

A parent will be required to attend every rehearsal. We will discuss this more at the first meeting.

This show WILL NOT be DOUBLE CAST.

The following monologue and song for the character youwould like to be considered for. If you are interested in multiple roles please learn them all. You are allowed to

take the paper on the stage with you at auditions; however, It would be best if it was memorized.

Please Prepare:

The age of the lead characters could vary. I am seeing Cinderella between the ages of 16 – 30. The Prince would have to match

the age of Cinderella, as well as the Stepsisters.

1.This production is going to move at a fast pace. I am looking for a cast who is ready to be a part of the team and who are ready to work. I will be testing you at the auditions to see how well you take direction.

2. Please Come Prepared! The more your audition looks like you’re “show ready”, the better. If you don’t need to hold the monologue paper in your hand because you have it memorized – Don’t Bring It!

3. Come dressed appropriately! Please wear shoes you can move in if I decide to give a dance combination. That also means shorts under dresses. Please do not wear heels that could fall off your feet.

4. Please try to relax and have fun! I know it’s scary getting up on stage in front of people, but just do what I do – pretend this is your one chance to play this part – so you have to do your best. Don’t think we are wanting you to mess up. We want you to do great because it will make casting this so much easier!

Cinderella

It’s all right, the coast is clear. Shh.. Quiet they are resting.

Charles will you be joining us?I have a surprise.

Yes… for you.. Too. Crumpets if you please.

There’s enough for everyone, now share. So, how was your day? Same old-same old, huh? Yeah, me too. “Cinderella the packages!”

“Cinderella, the tea!” “Cinderella, the door!” How can three grown women be so helpless? Well, I suppose that’s what I get for letting

them walk all over me.

Audition Monologue

Audition Song: “In My Own Little Corner” Version: Karaoke Bwy Hits. Vol. 6 on Youtube

Cut: Start Singing: :55 – 1:43

What I’m Looking For:Cinderella is a dreamer with the kindest heart in the

kingdom. She dreams of escaping her endless chores so she might one day see the world. She is a strong-willed

girl with enormous faith. She believes that in time, good things happen to good people and deep down she knows

that her day will come. She does not resent her stepfamily. We must be able to see her conviction and her

inner beauty.

Prince Christopher

Oh…. Excuse me, miss. Are you all right? I’m so sorry. I… Please, forgive me. What’s your name?

You know, I really think names are overrated. I mean, what’s in a name?

Well, it was nice “bumping” into you. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.

Audition Monologue

Audition Song: “Ten Minutes Ago” Version: Karaoke Bwy Hits. Vol. 6 on Youtube

Cut: Start Singing: :21 – 1:30

What I’m Looking For: The Prince is a warm and sensitive young man without

pretensions. He is in no hurry to marry, preferring to find a bride in his own time. Despite his misgivings about the ball his mother has planned, he goes along with it so as not to hurt her feelings. When he meets Cinderella, he is insightful enough to realize that she is different from the other maidens at the ball.

He is comfortable and able to share his feelings with her. He must have a dreamy, suave quality about him and have a great

connection with Cinderella.

Lionel

Your Majesties, Your Highness – if you please. I couldn’t help overhearing and I probably shouldn’t interfere… but perhaps we can reach a royal compromise. Let’s say you suck it up and go along with

the ball. And if you find the girl of your dreams, great. But if he doesn’t meet the right girl at the ball, you let him fall in love in his

own time, no matter how long it takes. Don’t worry, your Majesties. He’ll meet the right girl at the ball. I can just feel it in my bones.

Audition Song: “The Prince is Giving a Ball”

Version: Party Time Karaoke S T V. 11 on Youtube

Cut: Start Singing: :12 – :38

What I’m Looking For:He is the official spokesman for the royal family. It is

his job to deliver the news of the day to the townspeople. In the first scene of the musical, he is

especially delighted to announce the ball because he knows the townspeople will be thrilled. I would like to turn this part into more of a character part. I’m

looking for someone with good facial reactions and comedic qualities.

His Royal Highness, Christopher RupertWinderemer Vladimere Karl Alexander Francois Reginald Lanceleot Herman….

Herman, Gregory James. Is Giving a Ball.

The Prince Is Giving A Ball, The Prince is Giving a Baalllllll (hold until :38)

Fairy Godmother

I’m your Fairy Godmother, honey. You got a problem with that?

Let me guess. You thought a tutu and a magic wand?Been there, done that.

You know what the problem is? She can’t handle how fabulous you are. Those girls of hers can’t hold a candle to you and they all know

it. Jealousy! That’s why they treat you as they do. Believe me honey – when your daddy remarried, this is not what he had in

mind for you.

Audition Monologue

Audition Song: “Impossible” Version: Nancy LoGuidice on Youtube

Cut: Entire Song

What I’m Looking For:I would love to see the Fairy Godmother a little more quirky and flashy than she is normally played. A great

example is Kristen Chenoweth in Wicked. I want her to know that she is awesome and is a total Diva. I would love

her to be a little sassy.

Stepmother & Sisters

SM: I might have married a prince myself if I’d had the advantages you’ve had. If I’d had someone to push me like you two do, someone to sacrifice

everything for ME!Now tell me Grace – what will you say when you meet the prince?

G: Well you said to show him there’s more to me than mere beauty, so I’m going to recite a poem.

J: Poetry? Bor-ing!SM: So much bickering, so little time! For Heaven’s sake Grace, stop

scratching yourself. G: I can’t help it. You know I get itchy when I’m nervous.

SM: Poppycock! Now Joy, how do you plan to make an impression upon the prince?

J: I’ve been cultivating my naturally infectious laugher. The princes every witty remark will be met with peals of delighted laugher. (laugh into

snort)

Audition Monologue

Audition Song: “Stepsisters Lament”Version: BlueAnia on YoutubeCut: Start Singing: :25 – 1:21

What I’m Looking For:These roles are true character parts. Please don’t be afraid

to take risks when it comes to these roles. For the Stepmother she needs to be poised, and a little dark. She does have moments where she gets to be snarky. For the Stepsisters, they have a little bit of a bratty side ; however

you still have to like them. They must have great facial expressions and strong comedic timing . Similar to Fat Amy

from Pitch Perfect or Carol Burnett.
