Prayer of Confession Gracious and loving God, when your Spirit inhabits
our hearts, your peace will been seen on our countenance and heard in our words. We confess that we do not truly know the peace that comes from walking closely with you. Our faces show worry and tension. Our voices speak the shrill tones of impa-tience and anger. We allow the events around us to shape the way we live, robbing us of the peace you freely offer. Forgive us, and fill us again with your Spirit that we might show your peace to the world. By your grace and power still our restless hearts as we continue our confession in silence . . .

MIND OVER GRIND
Well, summer was fun while it lasted. now it’s back to the grind.
sometimes we think of the “end of summer feeling” as a grief process. From fun and freedom, we return to joyless routines that leave us feeling half alive. is there a way to look forward to the fall months with passion and spiritual purpose?
in John 15, Jesus says, “i’m the vine. You’re the branches.” Then he adds a single word: “Remain.”
learn how this word holds the key to achieving a mind over the grind.
