Interested in the Catholic Church? Join us Tuesday, August 25.

We welcome non-Catholics who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church, or who may be thinking about becoming Catholic. An Inquiry session will be held on Tuesday, August 25, from 7:30-8:30pm, in Seton Hall (the basement of the Church). We will answer questions, and explain the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), the process by which adults join the Church. There won’t be any pressure to join, and you don’t have to have made any decisions. This is just a chance to ask questions and learn more about us. Parishioners are strongly encouraged to invite non-Catholic friends who may have been thinking about joining the Church to attend this session. The RCIA process begins September 8, so now is the time to find out more. Anyone interested is encouraged to call Sandi in the parish office at 816.523.2405

After 8 months away from you, we sincerely believe there is no place like home. Thank you for your constant kindness and concern. Dear St. Elizabeth Parishioners, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce

myself. My name is Joann Aubuchon and I am the new Assistant Principal of St. Elizabeth School. I am very excited to be joining the school staff. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Avila University, have 7 years of classroom teaching experience (5 of which were at Our Lady of the Presentation in Lee’s Summit) and have over 10 years of management experience at Starlight Theatre. I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to education, in particular Catholic education. As the product of the Catholic educational system, I truly value and appreciate the mission of our schools.

My husband, Travis, and I live in Independence and are members of St. Mark’s Parish. We have a daughter, Moira, who will be two in November.

I look forward to meeting and working with you! -Joann Aubuchon

Did you know that?..... St. Elizabeth’s Friendship Club in past years paid for

our lovely golden book of the Gospels, red seated chairs in Seton Hall, helped with the cost of the crucifix, paid for some accessories in the sanctuary? This year, because of our financial tightness, they are also making a contribution to our budget. We are all grateful.

-Fr. Bruce
