BANNS OF MATRIMONY: III David Burkey (Our Lady of Grace) & Amanda Dames (Our Lady of Grace) LADIES OF CHARITY CELEBRATE—On August 23, 2017, over 150,000 Ladies of Charity worldwide will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of its founding by St. Vincent de Paul on August 23, 1617 in Chatillon, France. One week earlier, St Vincent, the brand new parish priest, had called for support of a family "in unspeakable distress" during his Sunday homily. Following his request, many women of the Parish visited this family and other families in dire need providing both material and spiritual support. That next week, August 23, 1617, St Vincent, overwhelmed with the outpouring of charity officially established the Ladies of Charity. That work continues today by our very own Ladies of Charity of Our Lady of Grace Parish who minister to the poor, the sick and the aged. We will be celebrating this important anniversary at the 9:00am Mass on August 23, 2017. Please join us. MASS FOR HEALING—The “Fraternity of Priests” will be celebrating a Mass for healing on Wednesday, August 23rd at 7:00 PM at Holy Apostle Church - St Wendelin Church , Carrick. You are invited to come and celebrate the Eucharist expecting the healing presence of the Lord Jesus, as at every Mass, to touch you in all your needs. You are most welcome to join us for this coming Mass, and for dinner- just give Fr. Levi Hartle a call at 724-884-7744.

This past week, our annual Parish Festival was a wonderful time of fun, fellowship and food for our parish families as we conclude the summer and approach the new school year. Thousands of people came together on our parish grounds to enjoy the rides and games, the music and entertainment, the food and drink, in an hospitable atmosphere friendly to our parish families and the wider community. The elementary and high school students find it especially enjoyable as they meet up with their friends and classmates whom they may not have

seen over the summer months. Some people were from the early families who were members of OLG when it was first founded and developed in the late 1940s and 1950s. Other people were among the newer members of our parish, bringing their young children to enjoy the ferris wheel and funnel cakes, the family suppers and nightly entertainment. Diverse though our parish is, this annual August festival binds us together in an harmonious week-long celebration of faith, family and festivity. In this 70th anniversary of the founding of OLG, I am confident that the Blessed Mother interceded for us to ensure the beautiful weather and joyful fellowship. I want to thank Erin King, the director of the OLG’s parish festival these past several years, for the outstanding job of coordinating the festival with its various components, enlisting hundreds of volunteers, and inspiring our festival leaders to, again, offer their time and talent in this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the life of our parish with the many visitors we hosted, as well as raising tens of thousands of dollars in support of our parish. Without her intelligent, diligent and cooperative leadership, the six-day festival could not have been so well accomplished. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Erin and Tom King, and the hundreds of parish volunteers who made the festival such a success. Also, a special ‘Thank you’ is due George & Ann Fichter, who for more then 25 years ran our festival kitchen. We’ll miss their shrewd and efficient management of this essential component of the festival. If you want to relax and bask in beautiful and inspiring music Sunday afternoon, come to the 10th Annual Festival Organ Recital by our own Nick Capozzoli who will be performing from 2-3:15 pm, or so. This free recital will be followed by a catered reception in Keefer Hall to close our festival week. All are welcomed. Fr. Richard A. Infante, Pastor __________________________________________________________________

The priests, parishioners and staff would like to welcome everyone here today celebrating Mass with us at Our Lady of Grace Parish.
