August 2011
Jaxon James HolmesTENNIS star Roger Federer had better watch his
back for up-and-coming Territorian Jaxon James
Holmes.
Jaxon may only have been born on August
19 at Darwin Private Hospital — but dad Thomas
has real aspirations that he will be a professional
tennis player.
Young Jaxon certainly has the measurements
to be a sports star — at 49.5cm tall and 2.94kg.
He has three step-siblings to play with when
he goes home to Gunn in Palmerston — eight-
year-old Jasmine, six-year-old Bayley and three-
year-old Izzak.
An early riser born at 7.39am, the baby is
behaving well but “starting to get a bit of a
personality”, according to mum Kylie.
SophieHeatherTorrensTHE Torrens and Rickard
families were over the moon
after they welcomed the arrival
of their newest family member
— Sophie.
She was born at 10.31am
on July 23.
Father Kayne Torrens
surprised partner Dee Rickard
with the announce-ment of
their baby girl’s name. After
having found out the baby’s
sex, Kayne was hoping to
name her Sophie. Her middle
name Heather was also in
memory of Kayne’s mother.
Sophie was born at Royal
Darwin Hospital, weighing in at
3.6kg after a nine-hour labour.
Angus McDonald GuttersonTHERE was no rushing Angus McDonald
Gutterson. He came out nine days overdue on
August 17 at Darwin Private Hospital. He hasn’t
stopped sleeping since — except to grab some
tucker.
The young lad measured 52.5cm on the day
he was born at Darwin Private Hospital.
Parents Amy and Gregory are delighted with
Amy’s first-born. The hand-me-downs might be a
bit big from step-siblings Mitchell, 13, Caitlyn, 15,
and Patrick, 12.
When the bub gets home to Gray he’ll be
straight into following the Wallabies in the Rugby
World Cup.
Kyla Shannon BoothFIRST-TIME parents Amber
and Tim Booth were head-
over-heels when they
welcomed beautiful baby girl
Kyla Shannon Booth.
The couple and their
families were jumping for
joy when they heard the first
granddaughter of both families
was born in Alice Springs
General Hospital on a Saturday
afternoon.
Kyla graced the birthing
ward with her presence at
12.14pm on August 6.
The newest addition to the
family was 10 days overdue
and a little light at just 2.83kg.
Everyone present was
absolutely rapt at the beautiful
baby girl in front of them.
Madison Rose ToddFIRST-TIME mother Aliesha
Todd was proud to welcome
beautiful daughter Madison
Rose into the world on July 9.
The soon-to-be All Blacks
fan was born weighing 3.1 kg
and measured 47.5 cm.
The Jabiru mum says her
well-behaved daughter can
grow up to be whatever she
likes — so long as she is happy.
Ms Todd thanks parents
Sue and Grant Todd, and best
friend Fiona Thomas — for
support in the pregnancy and
birth.
Elijah Robert GreenTHE Goodfellow and Green families are delighted to
welcome the newest family member — Elijah Robert.
Young Elijah was born 3.6kg on July 9 by caesarean
section to mother Amber Goodfellow Green and husband
Major Brett Green.
The Pink Floyd tribute band singer-mum is over the dark
side of the moon at the birth of their first child.
Grandmother Denise Goodfellow of Bakewell said little
Elijah would “of course” become a singer.
Elijah is pictured here with proud parents and uncle
Rowan.
Iggy Fletcher HallWULAGI parents Katie and
Robert Hall were delighted at
the birth of their second son
Iggy.
Even 23-month-old brother
Angus doesn’t mind that his
spotlight has been stolen —
asking every morning to hold
Iggy and always giving him a
big kiss and cuddle.
“Iggy is a very good baby,
especially when it comes to
sleeping,” Katie said.
The future AFL ruckman has
a choice to make between his
parents’ teams: Collingwood
or Hawthorn.
He was born weighing
3.47kg and measuring 52cm
on July 20.
Katie would like to thank her
doctor and midwife at Darwin
Private Hospital for all their
help and support through the
birth.
TWINS Isabelle Grace and Breanna Joy
are the first babies for Renee and Kevin
Powell.
At birth, Isabelle weighed 1.5kg and
measured 37cm while Breanna was 2kg
and measured 39.5cm.
The proud parents from Marrara knew
they were having twins from the sixth
week of pregnancy.
“We were as prepared as we could be,”
Renee said. “I think we’re going to have
our hands full.”
The future Bulldogs supporters were
born one minute apart on July 27.
Renee would like to thank the staff at
Royal Darwin Hospital for their help and
support through the birth.

Sophie Anastasia-May LeeFUTURE eligible boyfriends of beautiful Sophie Anastasia-
May Lee should exercise caution. If anyone messes with her,
they’ll have to deal with step-bro Jaymes afterward.
Thoughtful Jaymes even chose her outfit to make sure she
looked the part for the trip home to Katherine.
She was born 10 days early at Darwin Private Hospital at
12.30pm on August 11 — but still took her time at 12-and-a-
half hours in labour.
The soon-to-be Carlton fan’s middle names are after her
grandmothers — and her first name is the only one proud
parents Anthea and Chris could agree on.
Sophie was 3.5kg and 49cm tall.
Bree Lucy LacknerTHE Lackner-Green household
is celebrating after the birth of
baby Bree Lucy Lackner.
Mum Kyla and dad Andrew
are thrilled with their new
arrival.
The Virginia couple have
already bought Bree — their
first child — her first motorbike.
“As soon as she is tall
enough to sit on it properly,
and smart enough to control it,
she will be riding it around the
block,” Kyla said.
Mother and baby are doing
well. Bree Lucy was born on
July 27, two weeks early, at
9.10pm after a 16 hour labour.
She weighed 2.9kg.
Lily-Zhade MatildaSmithTHE Smith family is complete
after the birth of baby Lily-
Zhade Matilda.
Little Lily-Zhade is the fifth
limb in the Smith family tree.
Mum Samantha and dad
Anthony already have a fleet of
ready-made babysitters, with
their eldest child Paige, 16,
already bursting at the seams
to be signed up.
Paige will of course receive
assistance from her siblings
Abbey, 12, Jesse, 12, and
Anthony, 8.
The family would like to
thank Dr O’Callaghan and
all the staff and midwives at
Darwin Private Hospital.
She was born on August 5
at 5.28pm. She weighed in at
2.81kg and measured 47cm.
THE Lay family has been swamped with little red
packets after the birth of Rose Lay.
It is a tradition in Chinese culture to present
families with red packets containing money on
special occasions.
Rose has received dozens of the packets from
the family’s closest friends and relatives.
Rose is mum Lily and dad Kivi’s second child.
Rose’s big brother Ryan is five, and Lily said
everything is starting to come back to her. “It’s
been five years, but it’s coming back to me.
Rose was born on August 4 at 4.30pm. She
weighed 2.4kg and measured 47cm.
