About: The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) welcomes

Minnesota Peer-to-Peer Overnight When: Aug. 23 to 24, 2013

Where: Minnesota Zoo, Apple Valley

About: While spending the night at the zoo, military-connected

youth ages 10 to 13 will learn how resilient animals can be while

watching them from the tide pool at the zoo. Children will have

the opportunity to go on behind the scenes tours, a resilience

scavenger hunt using iPads and other fun activities. This over-

night stay is being offered to provide military-connected youth

with the opportunity for peer-to-peer support networking. Those

planning to attend the free event should bring a sleeping bag and

pillow.

Tennis Clinic Fundraiser When: Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: National Sports Center, Blaine

About: Fundraiser, offered at no cost, in the form of a tennis

clinic for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Event includes

free food, chair massage and a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds

will benefit the Minnesota Military Family Foundation.

Firewood - Free Firewood for Families of Deployed Minnesota Service Members The Adjutant General for the State of Minnesota has authorized the availability of firewood from the Camp Ripley for families of all Minnesota Service Members that are currently deployed (including pre-deployment and post-deployment). Families are entitled to 2 full cords of wood per year. Contact Mrs. Tami Klucas from the Family Assistance Center at 320-616-3117. This is an ongoing offer.
