OBJECTIVE:

� To offer a multi-day series of workshops,related activities, and ongoing supportstructures to help faculty transition tounfamiliar but powerful approaches toteaching and learning involving active andguided inquiry learning in science,technology, engineering, mathematics andmanagement.

� The objective is to help the various facultymembers of science, technology,engineering and management disciplines inwriting activities that can be used in theclassroom to enhance student performanceand improve student process skills includingteam work, communication and timemanagement.

COURSE TOPICS:

� Orientation through enhancing teaching andlearning in Science, Technology, Engineer-ing, & Math (STEM) disciplines throughActive & Guided inquiry Learning Experiences

� Introduction to Process Oriented Guided In-quiry Learning (POGIL)

� How to Write a POGIL Activity, which includesthe following modules:

� Analysis of POGIL activity structure� Practice in Writing Good Questions� Addressing Learning Objectives� Developing Robust Models� Author Coaching and Feedback

� Classroom Implementation of POGIL, whichincludes the following modules:� Experiencing POGIL Classes� Effective Responses� Facilitating POGIL Classes (for those

participants with some POGIL experiencewho would like to practice facilitation

ABOUT AITAM

Aditya Institute of Technology And Management

(AITAM), Tekkali has shot up like a bright star in the

firmament of technical education in the Northern

Districts of Andhra Pradesh. Established in 2001 on a vast

expanse of 50 acres of land just on the NH-12 and 40 km

from the district headquarters, Srikakulam. Within the first

thirteen years of existence the college started

commanding a respectable position among the premier

institutions in the state with its six branches of B. Tech.,

MBA, M. Tech and Diploma programs. To crown the

success story, the college acquired the necessary

accreditations from NBA and NAAC. The institution is

permanently affiliated to JNTUK. UGC sanctioned us 2(f)

and 12(b) status. This is also a TEQIP funded institution.

It gets Autonomous status from UGC. Every Department

of this college has its own R & D wing and its own

Research Programs. JNTUK has sanctioned and set up a

Research Centres for the Branches CSE, ME, ECE to

promote research activities.
