fair projects must be in the Os-

ceola County Extension Office by

4pm on Thursday, August 4th

for transport to Des Moines.

As in past years, due to trans-

portation restrictions, large ob-

jects cannot be taken to State

Fair. Project books can be taken

in place of the actual project.

Senior Highlight

Allison Johnson—Gilman Jr

Farmers

Meet Allison! A senior at Sheldon High School, she plans on

attending Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA to

study Equine Management/Equine Science. Her favorite part

about being a part of the 4-H program is getting involved with

new projects and being able to help younger kids become in-

volved and seeing them excel. Her favorite foods are nachos,

pizza and cheese. She loves summer the most, since she is

able to spend more time outdoors with her horses. When

asked her favorite 4-H memory- “Winning Overall Horse Show-

man at the fair, and being able to help during Educational

Showmanship to help younger members learn how to show

horses”
