donations and for that we are thankful. Please join
us in this worthy cause.

In 2012 Chapter established the Albuquerque
Chapter of MOAA Endowment at the Albuquerque
Community Foundation (ACF) to enhance our cur-
rent, and especially our future, ability to contribute
to worthy charitable organizations that help our
military personnel, veterans and their families.
The endowment was initiated in late January of
2012 and has grown well as a result of contribu-
tions and the growth in the investments. The
Board has adopted a policy of using the annual
distributable amount to increase our Giving in each
year. For those who are so inclined, gifts can be
made to the Chapter Endowment as a part of a
member’s estate or as part of a yearly donation.
More information about the annual performance
and use of the distribution will be published in a
future ALBUMOAA. For questions, the Chapter
point of contact is the treasurer, Clint
Whisonant, [email protected] or 505-410-
1417 (cell).

Thank you very much for the MOAA Chapter
Scholarship. I was always taught that the reason I
was able to enjoy the freedoms of American socie-
ty was because of the sacrifice of our soldiers and
veterans. Both of my grandfathers fought in wars.
I know that my opportunity to gain education is
because of those who fought and died so that
America would stay free. I am very grateful that
those who have already given so much for the na-
tion have chosen to give to me. I will use the
scholarship to succeed in college and ultimately
become a productive citizen. My value of hard
work, merit and morality are founded in the mili-
tary upbringings of my parents. I hope to pass
