    Ushers — Tyler Rapp, 678-899-3530

    Greeters — Carol Barylak, 770-894-1607

    LITURGICAL MINISTRY CONTACTS

Low-Gluten Hosts Those who suffer from Celiac disease should come before Mass and let the priest know that you wish to receive a low-gluten host. At communion time, let the ushers know so that you can follow them and receive last.

Annulments The Archdiocese has changed it’s policy with regards to the Tribunal and the pursuit of annulment cases. Folks seeking annulments will now have to go to tribunal advocates, who are trained in the new procedures, instead of case sponsors. Our present case sponsors can still remain a part of the program, acting as coaches and assisting folks in filling out the paperwork. It would be ideal if we had some-one in our parish to volunteer to be trained to become an advocate, saving our parishioners from having to go to other parishes. We are told this can be done without having to go down to the chancery. Couples might work and be trained together and our present case sponsors may also want to upgrade their training as well. If volunteering to become a canon law tribunal advocate is something that interests you, then please let us know. We have so many broken families and folks who need annulments, so this is really an im-portant ministry in our parish. That said, barring having our own advocates, those seeking annulments should now expect to make appointments with regional advocates at neighboring parishes. To learn more about the program, contact Mr. Joe Tovar, Chief Advocate for the Metropolitan Tribunal, 404-920-7503, [email protected].

Heal the Heart Wounded by Abortion For confidential help dealing with the aftermath of abortion, please contact the Project Rachel Ministry of the Archdio-cese of Atlanta, 404-920-7365, [email protected], or visit http://www.archatl.com/ministries/respectlife/healingafterabortion.html.

A SPECIAL KIND OF FOOD DRIVE SEPTEMBER 7th/8th

As parishioners of OLM, you are familiar with the quarterly food drives that the St. Vincent de Paul Society conducts to gather food and other items to support CARES. During the weekend of September 7th/8th our food drive will support the efforts of the SVdP of Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay, who though being a small conference, has decided to start a food bank of their own. Although there is a Gilmer

County Food Bank, our Vincentian Brothers and Sisters in Ellijay are finding many families who are in need of supplemental food. The conference has found that the food they share with those in need can free up a little money for gas or other needed items that may keep a family afloat. Our Lady of the Mountains' SVdP would like to help stock their shelves to get their food pantry off to a great start. The following items are in high demand, but all donations are appreciated: laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, soap, shampoo, pasta, cereal, grits, peanut butter, jelly, rice, soup, broth, crackers, mac and cheese, canned meat and canned fruit. Paper bags for donations will be provided and available for pickup on the weekend of August 31st/September 1st. Bags can be returned before or after all Masses on the weekend of September 7th/8th. Please do not leave the bags in the Narthex, instead deposit them on or under the tables designated for the food drive in Fr. Denis Hall. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
