At Home with the Lord Remember Lord and welcome into your Kingdom those who have died and gone before us marked

in the sign of faith, especially Sylvester Maksymowicz

Please pray for the consolation of his loved ones.

St. Anthony Chapel & The Year of Mercy Saint Anthony Chapel is one of two places in the Diocese of Pitts-burgh where one may gain the privi-lege of The Holy Year of Mercy Ple-nary Indulgence; the other is St. Paul Cathedral. A detailed pamphlet is available at the Chapel that outlines the conditions for gaining the Holy Year Indulgence. For more information, please visit www.saintanthonyschapel.org

From the desk of Fr. Jim

It’s always encouraging to see one of our parish-

ioners recognized for their commitment to the

Faith. Frank Balestrieri was recently recognized

by the Alumni Association of the Bishop’s Latin

School with their Cardinal Wright Award. This

award seeks to recognize those who have made

a significant contribution in the fulfillment of the

mission of the Church. The Brief on Frank’s

award notes his devotion to the work of the Pas-

sionists, his work at Incarnation Festival, Usher-

ing at Incarnation Parish, Eucharistic Minister at

Incarnation and Most Holy Name Parishes, Cate-

chist at Incarnation for ten years, Chapel Sitter at

St. Anthony Chapel, Member of the Catholic

Men’s Fellowship at Most Holy Name, and his an-

nual attendance at the annual Gathering of

Catholic Men. Frank certainly gives all of us an

example on how to live as a committed Catholic.

Congratulations Frank!!

Now on to more mundane matters4 For

your information, We have a leak in the Church

roof at Most Holy Name. You may have noticed

paint chips on the floor near the third window on

the Tabernacle side of the Church. The roofer

has been in and could not find the source of the

leak. The search is ongoing. We have some theo-

ries on how the leak is traveling or happening. All

are being tested.

God go with you.

Pax,

Fr. Jim

St. Anthony’s Chapel needs sitters The Chapel is in need of 1 or 2 attendants (sitters) for Thursdays. If you are able to volun-teer 1 hour a week or a month to be in the pres-ence of Our Lord & His many Saints in the Chapel, please call Carole at 412-999-4401.

Eucharistic Adoration & Veneration of the Relic of St. Peter Claver at St. Anthony's Chapel

On Sunday, September 4 at 3:00 pm, we will begin to pray the Church's evening prayer before

Christ in the Eucharist. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the monstrance at the begin-ning of evening prayer and the service will con-

clude with Benediction, Christ imparting His

blessing to us in His Eucharistic Presence. Fol-lowing the service, the faithful who wish to do so

will have the opportunity to venerate a relic of one

of the saints. For July, it will be the relic of St. Peter Claver, whose feast day is on Septem-ber 9th. St. Peter Claver was a Spanish Jesuit priest and missionary born in Verdú (Catalonia) who, due to his life and work, became the patron

saint of slaves, the Republic of Colombia and ministry to African Americans. During the 40

years of his ministry, it is estimated he personally

baptized around 300,000 people. He is also patron saint for seafarers. He is

considered a heroic exam-

ple of what should be the Christian praxis of love and

the exercise of human

rights.
