Character & Service
It is our responsibility as a college to keep our
environment rubbish free. Please encourage your
children to place their wrappings and litter in the
bins provided at school. This has always been
emphasised and promoted by our teachers and
staff.
I would also like to remind all parents and
students of the importance of arriving to school on
time. Late arrivals are increasing with many
students arriving after 8-30 am. Please do not
assume that important learning only begins after
the morning assembly. Students should arrive on
time for the assembly so that they can be part and
also aware of important announcements and
arrangements made for the day.
Thank you to those parents who are picking their
child/ren up on time in the afternoon. It is
important for the health and safety of your child/
ren that they are picked up by 3-30pm at the
latest.
I look forward to work with you all towards an
enjoyable and productive term InshaAllah.
Mrs Mariam Banwa
Dear Parents / Caregivers,
I welcome you all to Term 3 and I I’m sure you all
had a wonderful break.
I thank all parents for collecting their child’s
report personally. All others have been posted.
Please inform the administration office if you
did not receive your child’s report. You are
most welcome to make an appointment with
teachers at a mutual time to discuss your child’s
result. I encourage parents to please
make an appointment to see teachers this
term during the parent teacher interview
period. Letters will be sent out in due course.
Students are encouraged to plan, organise and
develop their time management skills to max-
imise effective engagement in their studies.
We welcome our new teacher Ms Noelia Abdus
Samad, year 1 teacher and Mrs Frida Joosting
our special needs support teacher at the Durack
Campus. Mrs Joosting will also work with
teachers at the Gold Coast Campus to address
special needs support for students. Our teachers
come highly recommended in their areas of
expertise and we wish them well during their
stay at our college.
We would also like to introduce and welcome Mr
Mohammed Ally, who has been appointed by the
board as Chief Administrator. Mr Ally is an
experienced educator and principal with a wealth
of knowledge in the educational field. We look
forward to working with him, InshaAllah.
Our College Family Fun Day will be held on
Saturday, 19 August commencing at 12.00 noon.
We call upon volunteers to come forward and
support this event to ensure that it turns out to
be as successful as possible. Please refer to
the flyer sent out.

Assalaaamu alaikum Wr Wb
It has been a great pleasure to see the progress of
students so far in the last two terms. The
students are motivated and keen to learn new
things in the classroom.
Each term is always a very busy Term and I
would like to thank all the parents of my student
for putting time aside during your busy schedule
to support your child’s learning and by praising
and encouraging them to succeed. It is important
to spend a few minutes of your quality time
helping your child with their homework as these
consolidates with what your child has learnt at
school.
Insha Allah with the learning the students do at
school and your help at home I’m sure your child
will reach their utmost potential. Please do come
in and see if you have any concerns about your
child’s learning.

Dear Parents/ Caregivers
Term three is well on its way and the year
twos’ are welcoming two new students to
their class. For this term the students
have decided that they wanted to learn
about different places around the world,
weather, telling time and shapes. Thus we
will have a look at all these areas and
more through the term.
For homework students will continue to
get their weekly spelling words. The
spelling words are
distributed Mondays
and the tests are on
Fridays. The students
also have “Targeting
Mental Maths” books in
their homework folder
and like in previous
terms students are
required to complete one unit per week
(week 1= unit 18, week 2= unit 19, week
3= unit 20…etc). Some students have an
additional homework i.e comprehension
and a booklet.
Our library day is on Friday, so please
ensure year 2’s have their library bags to
borrow books. Our sport days will continue
to be on Thursday and Friday so please
ensure students are dressed
appropriately (sports school uniform).
