OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Last year, the members of Grace gifted 559 children with boxes and the message “Jesus Saves”. We’ve never set a specific goal before, but this year the number 1,000 has been placed in our hearts. We are getting the word out early this year, so that 1,000 children will receive boxes from our congregation with the message of the Saving Love of Jesus.

There are many ways to participate: School supplies are on sale, so now is the best time to stock up. If you don’t want to pack an individual shoebox and would like to purchase items in bulk to donate, we are in need of the following items: School supplies, Coloring books, Balls, Small cars, Tooth brushes (NO tooth paste), Washcloths and bar soap (NO liquids), T-shirts, Flip flops, Small toys Please note: edible items and liquids are not permitted in the boxes.

We have a volunteer who is sewing dresses to be included in the “girls” boxes. She is looking for donations of cotton fabric, lace, buttons, thread, and embellishments. If you have any of these items and you are willing to donate them, please let us know. If you have any questions, contact: Angie and Dick Beecher 752-3081 Mark 10:16 And he took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them

Thank you for supporting this ministry!

THE LORD’S SUPPER

Here our Lord gives to us His own Body and Blood

for the forgiveness of all our sins

Our Grace Family celebrates The Lord’s Supper on the 1st and 3rd Sundays

of the month, confessing that our Lord feeds us with His very body and

blood for our forgiveness.

Please read carefully:

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at Grace in the confession and glad confidence

that, as He says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but

His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to

strengthen our union with Him and one another.

Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of all sin, and

set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that

they may show forth His death until He comes.

Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do

so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the

faith which is confessed at the Altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt

or who hold a confession differing from that of Grace and The Lutheran

Church - Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, are

asked first to speak with the Pastor or an Elder.

CONFERENCE ROOM BIBLE STUDY The Book of 1 Peter

"Peter wants to encourage pastors who are watching over and nurturing their congregations through difficult times of persecution and suffering. It offers us great comfort and hope when we pass through our own times of suffering—especially when we are being persecuted for the faith—and reminds us to pray for our fellow Christians who are undergoing persecution."

Where: Conference Room Time: 11:10am Facilitator: Kevin Hendricks

SUMMER SANCTUARY BIBLE STUDY

Summer Sanctuary Bible Study – “You’ve got tough questions about the Bible. Maybe you’ve even heard things like “the Bible is racist.” Or “the Bible has too many errors and edits.” Or, “the Bible is merely a mythological story like Homer’s Odyssey.” Over the summer months, we will study the book “Why Should I Trust the Bible?” This book tackles accusations like those head on. The author, Pastor Trevor Sutton compares the Bible to writings that have been deemed more credible than the Bible, like the Book of Mormon, encyclopedias, and even Shakespeare’s works. He tests the Bible using the same rigorous standards that have been used to test those other writings, historical evidence, witness accounts and translation concerns. By the end, you’ll be able to better defend your faith when it’s very foundation is attacked.” We will meet at 8:30 am on August 4th to discuss the book.
