GOODBYE ABERFOYLE

HELLO LIVINGSTONE !

As the fellowship moves forward we look back on some of the blessed times that we had at Aberfoyle.

Over the years men came from many tribes and nations and all walks of live to testify the wonderful saving grace of our Saviour Jesus Christ. His Name has been glorified in many tongues. The camp itself was led by our brother Drew Greenwood, now with the Lord, was to those that came an

inspiration and encouragement and a beloved brother. He made room for eve-ryone and was very generous in all his ways. The fellowship was wonderful, meeting old friends, meeting new brothers and above all being blessed through the ministry of those who shared all that the Lord laid on their hearts. We were blessed many a time by the wonderful testimonies, we heard how Jesus had

transformed lives of hatred, lust, vio-lence, deceit and murder into loving, caring, graceful and beautiful people who in turn just want to share with the whole world what Jesus has done for them.

The BMF is now moving from the heart of the Trossochs to a more modern setting to embrace the change that is taking the fellowship forward. Under the stewardship of our new CEO Steven Turnbull and Council the Scottish advance is moving to Almondvale Suite Livingstone Football Club. The conference facili-ties offered are a step forward and second to none. It is more accessible for travellers either by plane or road. We can take with us that spirit of brother-

hood and sharing heading into a new “thing” lead by the Lord. There are some of course who may miss the luxu-ries of Aberfoyle, i.e the on-suite showers, the privacy of the dormitory, the comfortable beds, the great food, and don’t forget the weather, not that the weather will be any better in Livingstone but let us move forward

with a new vision and determination to a unique opportunity in October to an event that will allow Christians and Non Christians the chance to experience the new face of the BMF in the UK .

THE FUTURE IS ……………………..

Steven Turnbull was in Atlanta, Georgia from 14th – 18th July for the USA council meeting and the ‘City Lift’ conference, to discuss ways forward for the fellowship. Wendell Nordby had asked the board members to come ‘prayed up’ and ready to share their thoughts on the future of the fellowship and air any concerns they have. Each man was afforded time to speak, including the guests. The general themes that came out were how so many of our members/leaders/men we are in contact in with are struggling financially and we need to help each other take our masks off and be real with each other; BMF was made for a time such as this; concern over BMF na-tional finances; frustration over lack of communication between board members; frustration over lack of implementation of decisions made by the board; a need to re-discover the purpose of the fellowship – saving souls; a need to re-discover a love for the fellowship as much as we love one another as individuals; God is taking us through a time of transition in the fellowship “from the generation of Ronny Svenhard to the generation of Steven Turnbull”; God is doing a new thing in the fellowship and giving us a fresh anointing; lots of new and young men joining in New York with 7 new chapters; each board member needs to be given a specific role and responsibility; fellowship needs to be marketed better; want to have BMF func-tioning in the 50 most populated cities in USA; we need more focus from the lead-ers; “leaders need to encourage men or they fail as leaders.”

Global report – Ronny talked about his trip to UK and recent conversations

with men in Asia. I then gave a presentation of the content of our plans for growing the fellowship in the UK and highlighted recent positive growth in the Lake District and West Lothian and five new chapters about to start. Answer magazines – discus-sions were had about presenting the magazine in an easy format for people to e-mail; placing a theme on each magazine with supplementary information that would cause someone to keep it for reference, i.e. sporting events with sporting testimo-nies and information, business themes such as advice for starting/increasing your business from successful business men and their testimonies.

BMF Burundi is the best known Christian ministry among those minis tries that are registered under government orders. There is now a BMF program for two hours A week (on a Wednes Day and a Sunday) on national television…those healed and saved in BMF meetings come to give testimonies etc; there is also have a one hour a week testimony pro gram on the National Radio (on Monday) and be cause of these broadcasts 307 men have been helped to receive Jesus Christ in their Life and all of them have joined BMF. In Cankuzo Province another 108 men joined the chapter there
