The real estate companies in India and China are fast adopting Artificial Intelligence(AI) technology in the development of applications that comprise machine vision foreasy analysis and surveying of buildings and structures.

Asia Pacific that contributes nearly 40 per cent in the global construction market, isestimated to be the fastest growing “AI-in-construction” market by 2024, Zion MarketResearch said.

The growth in Asia-Pacific “is owing to the extensive adoption of the AI-based plat-forms, such as machine learning and deep learning, code frameworks, and pre-builtalgorithms by the real estate companies in emerging economies, such as China andIndia”.

Additionally, the development of creating information modelling is software that givesinformation on a construction project, warranty details regarding material used, andcommissioning data.

This has resulted in increased AI adoption by most of the construction start-upsglobally for various applications, the findings showed.

According to the report, the global “AI-in-construction” market was valued at $312

Indian real estate firms fast adopting AI technology: Reportmillion in 2017 and is expected to reach $3,161 million by 2024.

“The construction sector is adopting AI to obtain precise data and insights to increaseproductivity, operational efficiency, and ensure safety at work. AI operates on algorithmsrelated to image recognition to find out search criteria,” said the report.

In addition, the need for safety measures on construction sites is also projected to drivethis market’s growth.

“Furthermore, huge investments made by construction companies from the emergingeconomies globally in the adoption of the advanced AI technology for construction applica-tions is also likely to contribute toward the global growth of the AI-in-construction market,” thefindings showed.

Europe is projected to witness a remarkable rate of growth in the global “AI-in-construc-tion” market in the upcoming years, due to the huge investments made by construction com-panies in AI technology for support, training, and digital platform.

Additionally, the rising adoption of the machine and deep learning technologies by com-panies to automate their business model is also considered as one of the major factorscontributing to this regional market’s growth, said the report.

Giving Hyderabad a global identity Some projects can change a city

forever, like the Nehru Outer RingRoad and the Metro Rail changed, and are continuing to changeHyderabad. While glimpses of theORR, right from those we can seefrom inside a flight that slowly de-scends at the Rajiv Gandhi Interna-tional Airport, still leave people in awe,the Metro Rail has not only changedthe way people here travel, but hasalso changed the cityscape to suchan extent, that anyone returning to thecity after a significant gap, before and

after the advent of the Metro, can hardly recognise the city. Now, a report on ‘Hyderabad,a Global City in the Making’ published by real estate and investment management firmJLL, says these two projects, more than any other recent infrastructure project that madesignificant contributions to the economy of Hyderabad, had an instant visible impact onreal estate as well. Both these projects had a ‘consistent contribution’ to the appreciationof property prices from their inception to their commencement, the report says, going onto note that these projects are also contributing to the future real estate growth potentialof Hyderabad. The ORR has improved connectivity of the international airport with thecity and pushed the development of manufacturing parks, business parks, residentialplots and apartments in and around Shamshabad.

The Hyderabad Metro, on the other hand, improved the internal connectivity of thecity and opened up new pocket friendly residential precincts such as Miyapur,Chandanagar and Ameenpur. Property prices appreciated significantly by more than 65per cent over the decade (2009-2019) in the locations that are in the ‘influence areas’ ofthese two infrastructure projects, while property prices in the rest of Hyderabad appreci-ated up to 50 per cent during the same time, the report says.

‘Real estate market in Amaravati has crashed’

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that eversince YSR Congress Party came to power in the state, the system in state capital Amaravatihas collapsed and real estate market has crashed.

The leader of opposition said the real estate market, which witnessed a boom during histenure, took a severe beating and plunged like share market after YSRCP came to power. Heclaimed that the state capital has lands worth Rs 2 lakh crore.

Naidu said after the new government came to power, the number of incoming and outgo-ing flights at Gannavaram Airport (Vijayawada) has come down. He said many flights includ-ing flights to Singapore were stopped. He claimed that people were again forced to go toHyderabad to catch flights for various destinations.

Slamming Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu said he can’t rule the state by‘settling the matters’ in the way he had been doing in his constituency Pulivendula. The TDPchief remarked that threats and committing excesses work in Pulivendula but not in Amaravatiand other areas.

In two years, land prices up by100% in Hyderabad

With big-ticket investments fuelling Hyderabad’s real estate sector, land prices in the city have seen an exponential rise in recent times -some areas registering a 100% escalation. Topping the charts are pock-ets along Hyderabad’s swank IT corridor, such as Kukatpally, wherethe current cost of land is pegged at a jawdropping Rs 48 crore to Rs58 crore per acre. Until two years ago, this was restricted to Rs 25crore to Rs 30 crore per acre. Similarly, Miyapur’s rate card has beenrevised from Rs 12 crore per acre to Rs 24 crore, even as upcoming ITdestinations like Kollur and Tellapur are now available for no less thanRs 8 crore per acre. On the other side of the city, it’s Uppal, Kompallyand Medchal that are grabbing eyeballs with massive jump in landprices, courtesy better connectivity, new infrastructure projects andinvestmentfriendly policies of the state government, say market insid-ers. While prime land in Kompally has hit an all-time high of Rs 26crore per acre - it was just about Rs 12 crore earlier - Uppal’s selling foras much as Rs 10 crore to Rs 18 crore.

To transform Hyderabad, Telanganato focus on city infrastructure

The state government to focus on townships, holistic developmentRated among top cities in the living index, Hyderabad is now look-

ing at a holistic and sustainable development agenda by taking upintegrated townships. In its quest to enhancing liveability, the Telangnagovernment seeks to work with CII and other agencies to streamlinethe regulatory environment while paving way for sustained develop-ment of the city infrastructure. Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary,Telangana, said, “Hyderabad is one of the fastest growing cities in thecountry. It is ranked high in the Economic Performance Index and ef-forts are on to address the pain points of citizens.” Speaking at “RiseInfrastructure Hyderabad-Enhancing Liveability” event hosted by CIITelangana, he said, “The Government has announced several policiesto ease approval process.
