We are a spiritually hungry people seeking to turn from sin, become like Christ and share God’s transforming

Word with the world.

August

Our series this summer will be an in-depth teaching on the Ten Commandments. One of the real challenges we face as a church family is the lack of basic biblical literacy in our congregation. Things we have taken for granted historically like God’s people having the Ten Commandments or the Lord’s Prayer memorized are no longer assumptions we can make. Furthermore, there is a lot of confusion in our culture today over the difference between the ceremonial law that Jesus set aside in his death and the moral law which is still in force. Again, going back to our REVEAL study, we have made a lot of progress spiritually which is encouraging but we still have a ways to go. Onward and upward as our friend, Bud Sparling, would say! Summer is a great time to do a series like this as it gives each week a “stand alone” feel and a simple road map to follow. Please join us in praying for the Holy Spirit to teach us about the wonders of God’s Law and why aligning our hearts and lives with His Word is the key to living a glorious life this side of heaven.

Mark and his wife, Priscilla, were involved in theological training with WorldVenture in Eastern

Europe for 14 years and lived in Vienna, Austria, for four years while ministering throughout the

“I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. And let us run with

endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.” (from Hebrews 12: 1, 2 and Phil 3:13 (NLT))

Seniors Summer BBQ

August 6 / Noon -2 PM Main Lobby

Jolly Demis, nationally known comedian and musician will provide the entertainment and Jim Chincholl, a member of PEPC, will prepare his famous brisket. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you plan to attend or if you have questions.

With a name like Jolly, he has to be good – or at least happy! Jolly Demis earned his namesake the day he was born. "This is the jolliest baby I've ever delivered," the doctor said. Starting his entertainment career as a singer-songwriter, Jolly began as the leader of many successful bands that performed nationally. Always a bit of a jokester and looking for the funny stuff in life, he started interacting with the audience in between songs.

Eventually going solo, Demis evolved into more of a comedian than a musician. Within a few years, Jolly began to establish not only a Colorado following, but a national reputation for his hilarious live performances. Before long, Demis was on the fast track to fame, opening for the Kingston Trio at the legendary Copa Room in the Sands Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip! .

Mentoring involves an older or more experienced Christian coming alongside someone who is perhaps younger in their faith to provide encouragement and challenge towards growth in their walk with Christ – an ear to listen, a brain to pick, and a nudge in the right direction.
