Rock Knoll Homeowners Assoc. Board Meeting NOTES Date: July 19, 2021 Time: 6:30 pm Location: Home of Greg & Beth Harkins, 9100 Rolling Green Avenue Re: July Board Meeting Summary Our treasurer, Josh Irwin, is working diligently to create a more workable budget. We are also in the process of working to streamline the dues paying process. While it is still a work in progress, please know it is being given due diligence. UPDATE – the homeowner that is in arrears for the largest amount is being served and an asset forfeiture hearing is being set. ** the board has hired an HOA attorney to aggressively collect the some $40,000 in dues that has gone unpaid for the past several years. It is our hope to significantly reduce this number by the end of the summer. We have asked Patti Curtis, Past President and current Pool Supervisor to assist the HOA in collecting these dues on a more personal level for those who want to avoid legal action and the costs that accompany that. Please know that every effort to bring homeowners current with their dues will be made prior to legal action, but once individual accounts are handed over the attorney, no other options will be available through the board. We have a large and beautiful property to maintain and in order to do that we absolutely must have 100% participation from the HOA membership – each one of us – in paying our dues on time, each month. In other news – * Thank you again to Patti Curtis for diligently seeing to any and all pool repairs this summer. Our pool and cabana is looking so good and we are excited to see everyone at the pool party at the end of July! *Children at Play signs – have arrived and our in our possession, Board Member Bob Smart is working with the City of OKC to schedule install. *The Rock Knoll Sign at Redlands and Roxbury that was vandalized has been cleaned! The epitome of “cool” on a hot summer’s day. The deeply shaded courtyardand fountain offer respite from the summer heat at Gayle Scheirman’shome, 6505 Dulane Circle. The August 2021 Yard of the Month firstcatches the eye with the luxurious carpet of green grass, blessed withshade from a neighboring tree to the west. Behind the lawn, one is struckby all the soft curves and arches found in the design of the home andgarden. The gently curving sidewalk is lined with stone landscape paversleading gently through the courtyard archway. The garden to the left isfilled with a soft green ground cover. Intermixed with the ground cover isa neatly trimmed bush and a tall, rounded topiary providing height andbrilliant pop of green sheltering a small white deer below. Closer to thesidewalk a tall, spiky succulent reaches for the sky and frames the left sideof the archway. To the right, the stone pavers continue in a soft, undulating pattern outlining the garden across the front of the home. Thegarden on the far corner contains a small bright green bush with alandscape light promising illumination after dark. A large boulder adds anupward curve and contrast as it leads to the corner of a tall, beautifullyshuttered window. Both of the windows are framed with brick outlinescurving at the top where half-moon transoms glitter in the sunlight. Thegarden then continues with a flourish of fancy-free green and pink bushes.Next, tall bushy plants dance wildly across the facade covered with whiteand pink flowers bursting like fireworks. The final blooms peek into theenchanting entrance to the courtyard. Framed inside the oasis is a tallverdigris fountain, topped by a lighthouse. The ground below is coveredwith soft brown bark mulch. Purple and green foliage with jagged-edgedleaves climb the back wall. A softly rounded bush with bright red flowersdraws the eye where it sits in front of an arched window, glistening like adistant waterfall. Inviting, indeed. Congratulations, Gayle! Thank you formaking Rock Knoll a more beautiful place to live.
