Dearly beloved in Christ, Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I praise God for this time to greet all of you through this newslet-

ter of our church. Let us thank God for bringing us safely to another new month in this corona period. God have given us courage and faith to over-come all the situations of tribulation and fear. We could experience the loving care of our savior in all our life situation.

Until the situations become normal, we will have Malayalam Di-

vine Service at 9.30 am and English Divine Service at 11.30 am on Sun-days via Zoom. Additionally, there will be evening worship (Sandhya Na-maskaram) every evening at 7.00pm via Zoom as well. All regular meet-ings of the organizations can be conducted via zoom conference as well. Let us pray for an opportunity to conduct our regular worship services in our church.

Our Sunday school will be conducting VBS via zoom virtual me-

dium from August 6th to 8th (Thursday to Saturday). I encourage all of our children to participate in the VBS with the support from our elders.

Our “Helping Hands Program” is continuing as an extension of

Christion love. Those who need its help kindly contact me or any of the conveners

Our trustees signed the contract for the repair work and the work

will commence soon. I praise God for your contributions and encourage you all to please pray for the repair work of our church building and to donate towards this project if you have not already done so.

In the month of July, we have lost Mrs. Sa-

ramma Jolly (Joice). She contributed much for our par-ish especially through Sevika Sangham and Choir. Let praise God for her meaningful life and pray for the be-reaved family. May God almighty help us to live in Christian hope and enable us to grow in faith. With prayers and love, Saju Achen

Dearly beloved in Christ,

As we embark a new month in August, it is a month in which the younger generation would have to wind up their vacation and return to the field of education. Let us pray for our children and the new chap-ter in their lives. Now many people are trying to figure out how to move forward with ways of life such as studies with options like live classes as well as virtual learning. Let us continue to pray for the present situation by trusting God. Life is full of challenges and uncomfortable situations; it comes to us to choose to not let the frustrations we face get the best of us. It is difficult to do so, but we need to see each situation as obstacles that we face to learn. We should also be willing to be un-comfortable in our full surrender to God. As a faith community, in God’s time, we will overcome. Let us thank God for our motherland India as we celebrate Indi-an Independence Day on August 15th. Let us reflect in the last 73 years of God’s blessings. Let us thank God for the mode of peaceful demon-strations that ultimately empowered India to be free. Although through nonviolent demonstrations that brought India freedom, there is still hurt and pain going on in the present day and let us pray that the peace of God may come upon India, the United States and the whole world at large. The current situations are not easy for any of us, God calls us to be there for one another. I encourage all of you to be empowered by the words of the Late Abraham Mar Thoma Metropolitan: “every mar-thomite is a missionary”. By this, be willing to be available and a listen-ing ear to those going through emotional, physical, or spiritual challenges.

Condolence

Our member, Mrs. Saramma Jolly (Joyce), was called to our Lord at the age of 65 on July 26, 2020. She

was an active member of Sevika Sanghom, Choir and other aspects in our parish. She will be greatly

missed. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Jolly Eapan and daughters Jess & Jenny. Please uphold the families in your prayers. Wake will be held on July 31st, 2020 at Flynn Funeral Home and Funeral ser-vice will be held on August 1st, 2020 at St. Thomas

MTC Yonkers, NY.
