System



Objetives

• GENERAL: to review the English Grammar

Framework/system

• SPECIFIC:- Review the concepts of “Form, Meaning and

Use”;

- Study the time frames and grammar aspects;



Ex.: Present Perfect

• Form:

Subject + Have/Has + Past Participle

• Use:To refer to an action in the past that influences the

present



Ex.: Present Perfect• Meaning(s):

- An event in the past without a definite time

“Helen has broken her arm”

- A state or repeating event lasting until the present

“I’ve lived here for 10 years”

- To describe experiences

“Jane has been to Paris and London”

- Completion

“I’ve just finished reading “Civil War ”



GRAMMAR STRUCTURE

• All verbs in the English Language are constituted

by two factors:

A Time Frame and An Aspect

Time Frame: It tells you when something took

place.

Aspect: It tells you how the verb is related to that

time or gives you some more information about the

quality of the action.
