1975 First year of funds distributed to students (24 Fellows)

1979 James M. Jones takes over as director

1979 MHR splits from established program and goes to NIMH

1988 Diversity Program in Neuroscience established

1989 Joe Martinez takes over as director of DPN

1993 Aging Fellows funding by NIA (morphed into MANIP in 98)
