Do you provide bus transportation from the Austin Finish Line at COTA on Friday?Yes, you can purchase a $40 ticket online for a bus until March 31st. Bus tickets increase to $60 beginning April 1st and $80 on site. On-site sales are limited to availability and thus we encourage you to purchase all transportation needs in advance. Friday buses from the Austin Finish Line will make stops at SpringHill Suites and Courtyard Marriott in the Katy Mills Mall area and then the Omni Westside Hotel near the Opening Ceremony. Free parking is available at Circuit of The Americas, where you may leave your vehicle until the ride finishes on Sunday. Can I send my bike to Houston on Friday without taking the event bus?Yes, you may send your bike on the bike truck to Houston on Friday without taking our bus. Drop your bike off at the Austin Finish Line at COTA in Lot F on Friday between 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The final truck departs for Houston promptly at 5:00 PM. *Please note, your bike may take several hours to be transported to Houston. If you require access to your bike in Houston on Friday night, we recommend you drop it off prior to noon on Friday so that it departs on the first round of trucks and arrives in Houston late afternoon. Can I pay for bus transportation at the BP MS 150 on April 26th or 28th?Yes, you can purchase bus transportation on site for $80, pending availability. Secure your spot by purchasing before April 1st. Bus transportation is refundable until April 1st.

*If you paid for bus transportation online, you should have received a receipt via email. Contact the Society’s Fundraising Support Center at 855-372-1331 or by email at [email protected] to confirm transportation purchase.

If I plan to take a bus back to one of the three official start locations on Sunday, what do I do with my bike? When you finish the BP MS 150, take your bike to the bike trucks (18-wheelers) located near the finish line. Then go find your luggage in the luggage lot, take a shower, eat, and enjoy time with your friends and family. When you’re ready to go back to Houston, load the passenger bus with your luggage and board the bus. Allow approximately four-five (4-5) hours for your bike to arrive at Energy Corridor Addicks Park and Ride, Rhodes Stadium or Waller Stadium from the time you dropped it off at the bike trucks at the Austin Finish Line. You are responsible for taking your luggage with you on the bus. Bikes are transported to each of the Official Start locations in separate trucks and separately from people. The bike trucks do not leave at the same time as the buses, therefore your bike may not arrive at the same time as your bus. We highly recommend that you load your bike onto the trucks located at the end of the finish line chute as soon as you finish the ride. What time on Sunday do buses depart from the Austin Finish Line at COTA to return to my Start location?Buses will begin departing from the Austin Finish Line at COTA at approximately 1:00 PM on Sunday. Please note, departures will not occur until a bus is completely full. The last bus will leave approximately 45 minutes after the last rider finishes. How much is the bus back to Houston?Transportation from the Austin Finish Line on Sunday is available for riders and bikes to Energy Corridor Addicks Park and Ride, Rhodes Stadium and Waller Stadium for $40 through March 31st, and $60 beginning on April 1st. Online reservations are available until Wednesday, April 24th. We highly encourage advance purchase of bus transportation. Onsite purchase on Sunday, April 28th is $80 and is subject to availability.

    TRANSPORTATION FAQs

    8

  • FAQsWhat time can team representatives load-in items to our tent on Sunday? The site opens and direct vehicle access to your team tent will begin at 7:00 AM and end at 10:00 AM. Any representative arriving after 10:00 AM will not be able to have vehicular access directly to their team tent but will be able to utilize the designated team parking areas located in Lot A, Zone 1 and Zone 5, for load-in (pending space availability). Team parking areas are located in close proximity to the team tents. Only team vehicles with official BP MS 150 Austin Finish Line Lot A access passes will be allowed on-site and in the team parking areas. What time can team representative load-out items from our tent on Sunday?Vehicular access to team tents will be allowed at approximately 5:00 PM OR whenever the last rider finishes the event to ensure safety for all event participants. Vehicles parked in the team parking area may be loaded in place prior to 5:00 PM but they will not be able to pull up directly to the tents. Can I park next to my team tent? There is no parking next to any team tent. However, two vehicles per team tent may park in Lot A in the designated team parking area for the duration of the event. This will allow teams to transport items to their vehicles in the designated area prior to the last rider finish. Team vehicles parked in the designated parking area will be able to enter and depart the site throughout the entire day, but we ask all drivers to be extremely cautious of pedestrians and other vehicles moving around the site. Where can my team caterer deliver our food on Sunday?Caterers delivering food to site on Sunday must have an event provided access pass in order to access the catering drop-off locations in Zones 1 and 5, closest to the team tents. Any caterers without a pass will be forced to park in Lot F and bring food to Lot A via the parking shuttles.

Is on-site cooking allowed?Yes, on-site cooking is allowed in designated areas with pre-approval required. If you have not notified us, you will not receive a “Grill Permit” and thus will not be permitted to cook on-site. You are required to have fire extinguishers with your grills (size depends on type of grill and will be shared with your approval). Per the Austin Fire Department, all grills must be 20 feet away from tents. Grills within 20 feet of any tent are subject to a fine. Where can my team massage therapist park?Massage therapists (and other team support vendors without an access pass) must park in Lot F. Free shuttle service from Lot F to the main venue will be available throughout the event. Shuttles can accommodate large items like, massage tables, chairs and coolers.

Where do I park our team vehicle(s)?Two vehicles per team with a tent rented from Marquee will be allowed to park in the designated parking area of Lot A. There is no parking next to the team tents. Vehicle must be a PASSENGER/CARGO VAN OR SMALLER in order to fit in a standard parking spot. Additional parking is available in Lot F on Circuit of the Americas Blvd. One or more of our team vehicles is larger than a passenger/cargo van (i.e. a box truck). Where can we park these oversized vehicles? Please contact Karla Zielke ([email protected]) for details on oversized vehicle parking. YOU MUST INFORM NATIONAL MS SOCIETY STAFF IF YOU WILL HAVE AN OVERSIZED VEHICLE ON-SITE SO THAT WE CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. Where is my team’s tent located?Team tent maps will be available beginning April 10th for all teams that rented a tent through Marquee Rentals. (Back to Table of Contents)
