The kangaroo
Kangaroos are the only large animals that jump to move around. They can reach up to 70km per hour.
Kangaroos have adapted to a dry country.
They’re reproduction is similar to the possum. The young are born at a very early stage of development after a gestation of 31 to 36 days.
The koala The koala is one of Australia's best known animals.
There are two species, the Southern Koalas and the Northern Koalas. Southern koalas are larger than
Northern koalas. They have a grey soft furred coat, with a white chest. A flat nose and big ears, and clawed feet
for climbing.
They do not move around much. They are only active for about 2 hours of the day.
When koalas are one month old they are 10cm long.
