You take what you need for the day.

The horses are being mustered into a set of yards, the men that work on the cattle station choose a horse to ride on for the rest of the day. The horses that have been chosen are fed with nosebags. They are saddled up and loaded on horse-trucks.The journey is often silent. When they arrive, they drop of the horses. They get help from choppers and motorbikes to summon the mob.

When the mob has been yarded the calves and weaners are separated to get ear marked, dehonored, castrated, vaccinated and branded. The most important job in this process is the Tally Book. The Tally Book is important because the men that work need to know how many cattles there are in the paddocks.

The workers are hedding to camps if the drive is a few hours longThe camp chef is responsible for that the workers get food.

On a cattle station there is always work to do, shoeing horses, grading roads, fixing tyres and other mechanical problems, bore runs etc.

There’s much to do so you don’t get so many days of.People send mails and gifts through the mail plane.

They order supplies like vegetables, fruit and parts needed to repair things.

The workers like to go to a pub. It can take a few hours to go there. The highlight of the year is the rodeo. The crew of the station gather there and socialise with other workers.

When the mustering season ends and the wet season begins. Horse shoes are taken of and they are turned out to spell for the year to come.
