1 . OBITUARY I It is rsith profound regret

that me have to announce the passing of three sportsn~en, xvho have been supporters of the Association for many years. ~ r . Ted. Cross, of Gilxandra (N.S.W), who used the shoot- ing name of "Ted," was the victim of an unfortunate shoot- ing tragedy a t his home w'operty recently, when i t is onderstood that a dog stood on the trlrrer of a loaded rifle, mluch hal~pened to be pointed in Ted's direction. "Ted" was a great supporter of the Association's bigger meetings, and as recently as March last he competed in the Champion of Champions k t u r e , just missing International selee- tion. "Ted" was such an enthusiast that his registration fee \\.as paid up to the end of 1950. Re was 22 ... .-.

Another who mas interes& in the sport, hut had not been anlong colnpetitors in recent ?ears, was Mr. Albert Howqua, of Essendon (V.). Mr. Hornqua, who used the shooting name of "Blue Rock," n7as formerly a& sociated with the Seymour club, and is credited with ,\in- nins the first gold medal pre. sented by I.C.I. To the relatives of the three sportslnen referred to the As- sociation and shooters generally tender their sincere sympathy and regret.

U.S.A. SHOOTING By Rex Miles (Washineon, U.S.A.)

President of Spokane Gun Club, Bill Myerhoff, covered himself with glory a t the recent \%'asl~ington State singles ehalnpionship, winning the title event with 199 out of 200 on 10 yards; also the State doubles (double-rise) after a shoot-off urith 94 x 50 pail's, and also won the State All-Round Championsl~ip, which con- sists of 200 birds from 16 pards, 50 pairs and 100 a t handicap yardage, total 400 targets. Bill broke 390/400 of the mixed targets. In the handi- cap he shot iron1 24 yards. In the Class Chan~pionship Bill broke 99/100. The event was won hy Arnold Riegger, of Seattle, who shot 100 straight. Reigger is one of the con,>- try's best.

We recently installed electric pullers on eight of our twelve traps. The only thing that i t does is to save a lot of hard ~rorl; for the puller, as he does not hare to work the lerer to set the trap and pull it. A s for fast and slow pulls, you get the111 just as frequently with these electrics as you do with the lerer- it all depends on the operator.
