Metre of Science - Canberra Centre

‘Metre of Science’ is a site specific series of individual science displays at the Canberra Shopping Centre. The installation focuses on science themes to be exhibited on the glass see-through floor on the upper floor of the busiest shopping area and is a hugely popular visitor attraction in the hub of the Canberra civic shopping precinct.

‘Metre of Science’ is an opportunity for individual contributors to showcase their science interest, either as a collection of fascinating science objects / equipment, a mini-museum space, an artwork, company product related to science, a science storyboard, a message space... whatever, so long as we work with you to bring your idea to the public view.

The overall sciencescape ‘Meter of Science’ installation is a key event of the Australian Science Festival aimed at encouraging a diverse range of curious and exciting science scenario’s - a spectacle of 48 spaces visible on both floors of the Canberra Shopping Centre. The overall sciencescape will be photographed (above and below) the installation, as a documentary of the event and publicity material.

The Australian Science Festival is responsible for curatorial direction and the editorial submission process. However, as this installation features your ‘Metre of Science’ we would very much like to discuss your idea, keep you in the loop and share the 48 concepts sciencescape.
