Airport Express

The fastest way to get to the airport from Central is the airport express. Trains depart from Hong Kong

Station in Central every 12 minutes for the 24-minute trip to Hong Kong International Airport. A one-way or

same day return ticket from Central costs approx. HKD 100,- (HKD 50,- for children aged 3-11 years). A

round trip ticket valid for one month is approx. HKD 180,-

Public Transports

The public transport system in Hong Kong is one of the most efficient worldwide. The so-called MTR –

Mass Transit Rail System covers all major districts and leading tourist attractions in the territory and

Star Street (Wanchai)

MTR Admiralty Station Exit F, follow the subway signs to the Three Pacific Place Link, which leads directly

to the Star Street Precinct.

Remarks: The area around Three Pacific Place and comprising Star Street, Moon Street, Sun Street and

Wing Fung Street used to be home to Hong Kong Electric’s first power plant but is now a fashionable dining

neighbourhood with design-driven lifestyle stores such as Manks, Ovo Home, Kapok, chen mi ji (furniture

Dried Seafood Market

Remarks: Wing Lok Street and Des Voeux Road West from Queen Street to Centre Street. A whole

neighbourhood specializing in the dried goods that are widely used in Chinese cuisine and medicine. Just

Way to go: Take bus 6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260 from Exchange square bus terminus in Central

Remarks: Try spending the entire day here since Stanley Village is also worth a wander. The market is a

small labyrinth of alleyways and streets where you can find a full range of gifts to take home, including

Remarks: It was founded in 2004 and open to the public the following year at the historic Murray House

building in Stanley. In February 2013, the museum opened in its new location at Central Ferry Pier 8. The

renovated Star Ferry Pier project was undertaken by a unique public-private partnership with the goal of

providing the people of Hong Kong with a first-class museum that reflects its rich maritime past and its

future.

The museum’s galleries use fine art, ceramics, ship models, interactive displays and 21st technologies to

Ngong Ping

Remarks: The 25-minute cable car ride shows visitors breathtaking views of Lantau Island and the South

China Sea. At the top of the ride is Ngong Ping village which features a variety of dining, shopping and

The Peak Tram and the Peak Tower

Directions: The Peak Tram departs every 10-15 minutes from the Peak Tram station, Garden Road,

Dragon’s Back Trail

Directions: To reach the beginning of the route from Central, take the MRT to Shau kei Wan Station. From

here, take bus 9 to the To Tei Wan bus stop on Shek O Road. The trail begins next to the To Tei Wan

pavilion. The hike is 8.5 km (appropriate 3 hours). For the return journey, walk along Big Wave Road for 15

minutes to Shek O to catch bus 9 on Shek O Road, and reverse the route to Central. If you’d like to join a
